This batch of African in 9.3x62 are nice but very consistent. No plain ones but no really spectacular ones either. Nice color.

Looking forward to it... all the gear is loaded in the back of the truck... straight from the post office to the range... :)

Got my 9.3x62 African today. Pretty happy with the rifle, nice and light. Barrel is a lot thinner than the First gen 9.3x62's. Ruger needs to step up and finish their scope rings in a more fashionable way...….Ive had my fair share of ruger rifles and theses are the worst looking rings I've seen to date. Mounted a low power 1-4x20 Monarch with #4 German reticle for pictures (Will replace the rings). Rifle with scope weighs 8.5Lbs on the dot.

I have a first gen African in 9.3 , super accurate. I have had it since new and never hunted it, I prefer my Tikka Battue 9.3 Iam thinking of selling the Ruger if I get a good offer.

Along side it is my First Gen Ruger M77 Hawkeye in 9.3x62 with the thicker barrel and sliver bolt. Weighs 9lbs as seen.

And No Im not planning on selling these ones, they're keepers!...…..:dancingbanana:

Here are some pictures you all can enjoy!

What is it exactly about the rings that you don't like?

Nice rifle!
Looks like some pretty wood on that one!
Ruger should supply the lower set of rings imo but I guess guys who want to mount 50mm objectives would complain.
Too bad they insisted on drilling the stock for a front sling swivel in addition to the barrel band. Nothing a plug screw won't cover I guess...

My Ruger M77 African rifles in 6.5X55 and 9.3X62 arrived last night... now comes the hemming & hawing over whether to keep my M77 MKII Standard 6.5X55 & 9.3X62 or these new African versions... one pair has to go eventually... first world problems.

Well, now I wish I had done the same as you Hoyt, and got the big brother to my 6.5. Maybe I will just have to find a .275 Rigby and pretend to be classy.

No question in my mind - keep the new ones.

Based on configuration, I agree... the problem is, both of the MKII's are insanely accurate rifles, particularly the 6.5X55. I actually bought the Swede to use as a donor for my 7.62x57 Medium Mauser build, but I made the mistake of shooting it first and my pet 6.5X55 load kept putting bullets through the same hole, so there was no way that I was going to chop it up. When I get back from turkey hunting, I will get them all out and do some handling and pondering and see which way the wind is blowing.
