Ruger 9.3x62

I had the older ones, the newer ones are nicer... not always the case, but for sure with the ones that I have handled... I will know definitively in a couple weeks.

the blued bolt is a nice touch, cant tell for the sights but seems the rear will be not the african kind but the barrel will be lighter hope there is not muzzle brake.

a shame they are not coming in left hand ...

Original runs had an issue with the stock splitting on the 375, I had one of them. Hopefully Ruger addressed the issue, otherwise proper bedding is a must.

The wood on these ones looks nicer than the original I had.

My Hawkeye African 9.3x62 needed a Wolff firing pin spring as it would misfire. The wood is quite nice and the 23" barrel is proper for the round.
The new Lipsey ones look excellent as well.

The original run had Blued bolts aswell... the sights are the same as the two original run guns that I had... barrels are a tad slimmer and 24" instead of 23"... and no brakes (Thank God... or the spirit of Bill)... all-in-all, a very well appointed piece.

ok cant wait to read your report. i wished to have one in left handed but seems it wont happen unless i sacrifice one RH to switch the barrel upside down lol ..

Sorry, we don't make them but I'll make the suggestion

While you are at it, put another plug in for an M77 International (Blued) in .338 Federal... I talked to Jason about it and he liked the idea... I would prefer a run of Internationals in .358 Win, but Ruger says they won't do the International in .358"+ bore.

9.3x62 itch is coming to you ....

Stop tempting me! ....... I'm not buying one. :)

We don't have scary bears here and already have several rifles that will suffice for moose hunting including a 275Rigby, 280 Rem, two 308s and a 300H&H, which when loaded with NPs will work just fine.

I'd love to have one of those Internationals in 358Win, but with a 20" bbl and a more slender forend.

Yeah, that would be just about a perfect rifle for your neck of the woods... I have one from the 25 piece 1993 run being imported via PR... but it is the standard 18.5" barrel... in .358 Win that is not really a handicap... the forend can't get much slimmer and have structural integrity with a .358" bore... one knock from the side and you would have cracked walnut... I would be willing to take that risk personally but Jason Cloessner says he tried and Ruger won't do it.... they may do a .338 Federal though.
