Ruger 9.3x62

Love these kind of threads...beautiful rifles there guys...would sure like to see how they shoot/hunting photos of these beauties

Got my 9.3x62 African today. Pretty happy with the rifle, nice and light. Barrel is a lot thinner than the First gen 9.3x62's. Ruger needs to step up and finish their scope rings in a more fashionable way...….Ive had my fair share of ruger rifles and theses are the worst looking rings I've seen to date. Mounted a low power 1-4x20 Monarch with #4 German reticle for pictures (Will replace the rings). Rifle with scope weighs 8.5Lbs on the dot.

Along side it is my First Gen Ruger M77 Hawkeye in 9.3x62 with the thicker barrel and sliver bolt. Weighs 9lbs as seen.

And No Im not planning on selling these ones, they're keepers!...…..:dancingbanana:

Here are some pictures you all can enjoy!

No question in my mind - keep the new ones.

Looking forward to the range report and few pics Hoyt.

Gotta disappoint you both...

After much deliberation and review... I just have way too much history with my MKII rifles to let them go... I had to "scratch the itch" and get these M77 African rifles in my hands, and they truly are beautiful... Ruger did a tremendous job, of slimming the whole package down, the handling is tremendous and the fit and finish is excellent... but I am going to move them along before I fire a round as NIB pieces.

Some solace for me is my new M77 MKII International .358 Win, which is undergoing a transformation into a carbine.

Both renditions look great and I like the earlier version with the heavier barrel profile. But getting an extra inch of barrel with an endcap on the stock of the newer one is a nice feature as well. And yea, a LH version would be great to see too. Given the price of rifles today the gun companies should be providing an opportunity for RH & LH variants as well as a few choices in calibers. These days I`ve found myself thinking about a 35 Whelen.

ruler was done in the 60s ... but seems that in 80s with rh bolt action i won some medals with the frf1 .... left hand shooting right hand for the bolt, seems i was very efficient even not very academic lol ...

My son is a natural lefty, but shoots firearms right handed due to all of the right handed firearms that were around when he grew up... he does everything else left handed, including golf.
