Ruger PC9 What optic are you using?

I'm debating what optics to put on mine. I have a vortex venom 3moa, a Bushnell trs25 or a Nightforce NXS 1-4 to put on there. I'll be trying them out today at the range to see which one I prefer. I feel like the 1-4 is what I'll put on there though....

I had a Leupold 2.5x compact mounted very low over the receiver. The ergos of the gun allowed me to get a scope nice and low instead of up in a high/cantilevered AR-style mount, which helped to flatten the apparent trajectory at closer ranges (0-100 yards). Much nicer not to have to compensate so much for an exaggerated bore/line-of-sight parallax up close.

Not a red dot, but this is what I am using:

Bushnell AR 223 1-4x, I found the cantilever mount to be too high, so have recently switched to lower rings.

I've got the same but with Leupold rings as low as it will go.. My Hi-point carbine I've got a Sparc 2

I may order another Leupold 1.4-5xX20mm VX-31 Duplex Reticle scope on my Ruger. I have one mounted on another PCC I own and it works well. Presently using a Vortex Crossfire2

Take Care

Related question. Where is the best position to place the red dot, on the barrel mount or on the receiver. Ive seen guys mount them as far back as possible but with all the gasses/carbon from the blow back I would think it would get crud all over the objective lens after a few shots. Anyone with experience to weigh in?

I shoot irons but have a TRS25 on standby, there's a guy on ####### who sells a picatinny rail for the barrel plus some other accessories. I have it sitting in a drawer, soon I will mount it.

I have mine mounted as far forward on the receiver rail as it will go. I like having my view obstructed as little as possible. Even with the crappy TRS-25 I can make snap shots out to 150m. Maybe farther but the bullets are already falling fast by then.
