We didn't just let C-68 happen. There were huge rallies in all of the major cities and on parliament hill, some under the scrutiny of snipers on the rooftops. Shows how much in touch the Libs are with the people.
We were hijacked by Kim Campbells' red tories and the Progressive Conservatives dureing a back benchers vote at 2:25am. Their excuse was they were doing us a favor, because if it went through normal parliamentary channels, it would be much worse. The truth was totally different, the Liberals were afraid to implement it or even bring it up, other than a few fanatics. The Senate of course, was mainly comprised of Liberal appointees as was the supreme court judiciary. After the "quisling" stab in the back, they mostly dived dureing the next election. Kim C could be found clubbing when she should have been electioneering. She was then appointed a plum ambassadorship, where she still resides.
God what a sellout by the "Red Tories". Hopefully never again.
The Libs/NDP/Greens believe in government of the party, by the party and for the party. Hopefully we can keep the CPC under some control.
