:(:(:( It is with great sadness that I have to announce that I am not able to make it:(:(:(:(

Thank you for all of your great efforts to put together what will not doubt be an unbelievably memorable and great time.

One more spot open.

Cypress Hills is one park and a very nice spot but there is also Saskatchewan Landing Prov Park north of Swift Current.
Also do not overlook the Regional Parks. Some of these are great and often cheaper than the Prov Parks. There are also a few private campgrounds esp alomg # !.

Thanks for the info. I'll definitely check out Sask Landing too. Cypress Hills is appealing because it seems similar to South Dakota which we really enjoyed.

By the way. How many people are signed up for the shoot and where are they coming from? What time is everyone figuring on arriving?

We'll likely be leaving Winnipeg at around 6am on Friday with the intent of arriving around dinner time (and $250 in gas poorer.)

Sorry guys, I'm pulling the plug on this trip.
Considering the distance with current gas prices, it would cost me around a thousand $ bucks for a weekend gopher shoot. I simply can't justify that.
Please someone take my wife's and my place and have a good time.

Are you guys sure you have enough ammo? I went out on Saturday from 3:30 pm to 8:30/dusk. Used up 200 rounds of 223 and about 750 22lr. And that is with a 45 minuite delay to fix the fence I shot down.

I get pretty carried away with the 10/22. It got a Volquartsen trigger last week and I needed to test it. The butler creek mags and loader save a bunch of time. I probably only get one gopher per magazine in the 10/22 but that is my way. :D

Damn this thread is quiet. I thought everyone would be itching for the shoot.

For those traveling far I just bought a product that will make transporting the rifles a little nice. WSS sells a seatback gun case that holds three rifles plus has pockets for other items. Keeps the guns hidden, protected and within easy reach. It sure beats fumbling through a pile of those cheap plastic Walmart cases to find the right gun.

How much is that seatback case?

I am going to have to go up there in a few weeks here to get things organized, and make some maps, need to buy a RM map so we can copy it for peoples...

I was really hoping I could afford to buy a new scope for my .22, but I might have to suffer with the glass thats on it...DOH!

It looks like I'll have to reassess the need for food, it seems to be taking up way too much of the space needed for ammo, if we keep going some of us are going to need a "DANGEROUS GOODS" placard.:):)
