Savage 10TR le/military

Guys I already want one and you are not making it any easier . I think I just saw a new stock from MTD (I think , I haven't found the link since ) looks a bit stripped down but still comfortable . Unfortunately our range only foot printed for 200m but we are trying to open it up to 300! Mr. Donut I know what you mean about needing somewhere to be able to reach out . Somewhere where you have to take the rotation of the earth as a factor in flight time !!!!!! HAHA !!

Enough people have been shooting these for a while now ,is there any benefit to using a brake or just a plain barrel in regards to the overall accurate performance of the rifle ?

I just decided to go back over the whole post and re read the info . There are some awesome rigs on here and I would love to have the chance to shoot with any of you .
Mister Donut ,thanks for the PM and advice but you are also an evil man and a bad influence on my wallet . Thank -you

Jwan320 should be to blame, he got me and a bunch of other guys into shooting, and our collective debt makes the national deficient look like a fart in the wind, lol!

All kidding aside shortround (Indiana Jones reference by any chance?), is there any crown land near you? We've given up going to the local range because it too maxes out at 200m.

As far as brakes are concerned, yeah, it certainly sucks for anyone sitting directly beside you. You just have to pick and choose who you shoot with. At a range, I always ask the people in the lanes next to me. On crown land with my pals, most of us run brakes. With a brake, you can often be your own spotter and see your splash.

Hey Mister Donut , the shortround is from Indiana Jones . I did something wrong when I registered initially and messed up something when I tried to use "The Cod Father " on here as I use it virtually everywhere else on line . I will have to check out the Crown land thing down here .There should be a bit of land off the highway without a cabin on it someplace !!!!

As far as Jwan320 goes you should know better that develop an addiction around someone who is obviously an enabler!!!!!! Don't worry ,we all have one in our closet somewhere !

Love the Cadex bodies been running mine stock except for the Rainer Arms M11 brake on it and atlas bipod.
I love the break, it allows you to see your impact.
Shoots real well with 175SMK got out to 650 yards last year hopefully gonna hit 900 yards this year, now that we got the gong out that far.

It absolutely hates 150gr FMJ tho, I had a bunch I got for cheap. Loaded 20 and couldn't shoot accurately at 100 yards.

I love Cadex too. I have one for my 700 and if I had some extra money, I'd probably flip my XLR Carbon and pick up another Cadex Dual Strike chassis for my 10TR.

I've been shooting Nosler 168gr and it's been fine out to 625, but got a bit wierd beyond that. Condomboy was able to reach out to 953m, possibly with Hornady Steel Match?

OK Jwan320 and Mister Donut , I have decided to bow to social convention and go with the brake .
In looking at different ones available I was directed to JP Enterprises ,,while there I developed a great need for the JP Eliminator . Wow what a piece of kit !!!!!! It looks like it should tone down everything but anyone shooting with me that day !!! My only concern is that it is a fair sized chunk of steel !!

Again any input please ?

Haha, I was looking for a brake like the one on my AR (AR Stone Competition Muzzle Brake), and thought I found something close with the GRG Magnum Muzzle Brake, but the pics online were a bit deceiving. When it arrived, it turned out to be the world's biggest brake, lol!

Yeah, it looks a bit over the top, but let me tell you, when I squeeze of a round, the rifle barely moves and like Jay says, I can watch the vapor trail and the splash.

Yeah, when I saw the pic before I ordered, it didn't look abnormal, but when it showed up it was a big wtf moment, lol! Anyway, I threw it on for $hits and giggles, but found it actually performed very well, so on it stayed.

Holy crap Mister Donut ,you do realize that there is a whole range of jokes about "overcompensating by size" jokes , but I will refrain and let everyone else do that before I pile on !!!

OK, you owe me a keyboard! :d Scalded the inside of my nose, too!
Mr Donut, that thing is huge, but it looks good with that stock.

Question : I don't see a shim so how did you time it? (or am I blind?) I have an ATRS brake, and like it, but I still get a wee bit of bounce off a bipod... C.

Haha, it came with a crush washer. It's not the best looking brake out there, and the profile certainly doesn't match the barrel diameter, but it works.
