Just for fun, if you have a friends in army or LE, he can buy it for you ?
After the purchase you just have to transfert the weapon, Oh sorry im from Québec ! the rest of Canada don't have the log book, lucky guy are you...
Thanks

This rifle IS available to the public. It started out as a Cabela's only deal and they called it the Savage 10T. Exact same rifle. I'm not sure how to feel about this...
I'm not going to cancel my order. It's still a great rifle for a great price.
But don't be fooled, it's not completely exclusive. I found it on the U.S. Cabela's website but a search of the Edmonton Cabela's came up blank.

The 10T sold by Cabelas state side is a special Ed. Rifle made for them. It doesn't have the threaded barrel and doesn't come with a rail. It sells for about $600.

About the TR being available to non Mil/LEO; Savage only sells the rifle to LE approved shops in the US. If the owners of those LE shops is selling to individuals well good for them but they should not brag about it because Savage expressesly stated that it was for Mil/Leo personnel only and that they will discontinue the rifle in a short while.

savage model 10 tr will be maybe available at canadian savage distributors, through several gun shops .. special LE not required. remington 700 5R are also close version of the "10", BTW research 5R and become familiar lands and round counts.. merrry christmas..

Also wondering about muzzle brakes......anyone have any suggestions?

JP Bennie Cooley signature series.
Part # JPTRE-5.58B.875

CRAFM carries JP products but said 4-6 months until their next shipment.
Please bombard them with emails asking for this prduct ;)
You can see a good pic of it on the rifle in that review that was previously posted on this thread.
Or just google image search: Savage 10TR review. You can't miss it!

In the meantime, any old AR10 brake will do the job.

Other than the tacticool factor, why brakes on a mousegun like this? I'm not terribly recoil sensitive, but I am a bit of a noise whimp. I assume there is some serious reason like keeping scope coverage of the target.

After a few discussions with Savage they have decided to open up this program to retired military and law enforcement.

AWESOME! Consider one sold to me; when will the orders stop being taken? I just gotta sell a gun to buy this one (ive even listed in my sales ad I'd trade for this setup)

They won't be shipping until January and I'll be taking orders until the guns I have coming are sold.

I'm curious over what kind of proof I would need to provide as a retired military. I still have my ID number, dog tags and some other stuff but I don't have a photo ID. I suppose it's the same for anyone retired since I gave that up when I left.
