Service Rifle Review of Falcon Menace 1.5 x 5 x 30 Matches 1-12

I use the 1.5x5x30 on a black rifle flat top and it is a great combination. I always wondered why more of these scopes weren't brought in.

The last batch I brought in was everything they had left in stock.

They were a really slow starter when we first brought them in but when they caught on we ordered everything we could.

I have them down to 60 pieces at a fairly reasonable price. The retail pricing on these will likely be in the $325 range. It takes about 60 days for them to produce them. I have to rearrange some things and get this next order out the door, but it looks like we might be able to have them late October or early November. Kinda late for this season, but at least you will be ready for next season. Also good for hunting season if they make it on time!!!

NavyShooter:

That Armalite Mount P/N EX0022 from Wolverine is the cat's pajamas.... Go for it... Remember it's a 30mm tube for the rest of you new to this thread and it's happenings.

While not a service rifle, this will give you an indication on just how tough these babies are, I have one on my Marlin 1895 Guide Gun, from which I fire some rather stiff handloads using 350 gr, 405 gr, 420gr and the big 550gr. No problems and this set up is my go to tree stand gun for use where deer running off is not an option!!

Well I managed to get a Armalite Mount 30mm P/N EX0022, but have hit a snag.

Seems the mount is too long for the scope. The rings are resting on the shoulder of the scope which will not allow the scope to sit flat in the rings. Don't know if it's me (I'm working night shift so the problem could be me..) or what but it doesn't fit.

Will try to post pics to explain what is going on later. Any help would be appreciated.

Oooohhhh....Hawkmoon....post up a pic soon please!

The EX0022 is currently backordered from Wolverine for me, so if there's a fit issue (bear in mind, I have neither scope nor mount in hand to compare) now is a darn good time to find out!

If it's a simple issue that can be fixed in a quick pass on the mill, I might pick it up anyhow.

Ok, from the armalite website, there's the dimensions of the EX0022.

Can someone with one of the scopes on hand compare those to what you've got and see if it'll fit?

Thanks!

okay hope this works.... please bear in mind I like this scope alot..and I will be buying another one just as Hungry advises... just in case my #### falls off....

Well,

That's pretty obvious now isn't it!

The scope will not fit in the EX0022 mount.

Hrm.

In looking at the photo, you'd have to remove almost 1/4" off the front of the mount in order to have it fit correctly.

Dang.

That's....undesireable.

The other option would be to open up the bell on the forward set of rings on the mill.

HRM.

I guess that means we need to look at another option for the scope-mount.

DANG.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.... I like the scope and like the mount but the two will not fit together for me. Hopefully some one else will weigh in with ideas, I don't know if Hungry is running this mount or not.

Will keep trying to get this combo working tho.... maybe removing a small amount of the outside of each ring... NS if you want to try send me a PM and we'll set something up...

If I had the tools I probably could get this to work. But apparently I have enough toys now and the wife won't let me....

Hungry here: I'm using Millett Angle Loc rings Med height directly on the flat top AR right now. Works for my fat face!
