[SFRC] Scorpio Bolt Action .22s on theammosource.com

Looks like a good start smokeater! Hoepfuly as the barrel seasons it will get even better!

What ammo were you using?

These are great little guns.
Highly recommended.
I topped mine off with a Bushnell Elite 4200 3-9x40 in Weaver Brand Low Aluminum rings with a Caldwell Bipod for bench support.

Great service from SFRC.

Looks like a sweet set up. This is what I thought I was ordering, but my skills on the web were lacking and I ordered the long barrel by mistake and guns are non-returnable or exchangeable, so I am stuck. Well not really stuck, it is a fine rifle, and I do appreciate the iron sights. I believe ALL rifles should have irons, even if you want to put a scope on them.
Keep us posted on accuracy with the shorter barrel as I may need to pick one up and make a set.

Just some bulk Rem Golden bullets
Right on, I was hoping you were shooting bulk.... :)

I like iron's as well, specially peep sights, that said today's micro red dot's with battery life measured in years, and also the micro prismatic optics that are very rugged and work well with or without power.... I don't mind a compact rifle with no front sight to get snagged on things.

Got mine, they are very cool, well built, worth the small wait, the young uns will love them,,, who am I kidding I love them, great little pack guns too but need iron sights for that, although could get flip ups for the rail maybe?

Mines ordered - this'll be the third I've gone through. Returned the JW15.

No mags on ebay.

I intend to make another stock. Would anyone else be into buying an inletted blank you can then carve to your desire?

Something like this, but I can make the butt stock more traditional.

I find many "young ones" have 3d printers these days.... it would be a pretty easy project to make a front sight that clamps on to the barrel and then run a peep sight at the back of the rail.... make a quick prototype with an extra tall front sight blade and shorten it to fit on the range.

I'm sure people will be interested, what type of stock material do you like to use?

These little .22lr's are just begging for a minimalist back packer type stock.

I’m interested in what other people get for accuracy. Mine averages 2 moa 25 to 100 yards. So far I’ve tried Eley team ,contact , match , tenex ,subsonic , and high velocity. SK standard plus, rifle match. Federal bulk 36 gr. Federal 40 gr. Blazer 40gr. Cci standard, mini mag 36 gr, mini mag 40gr target. S&B Canadian match. Probably a few more I can’t recall right now. I’ve bedded the action, touched up the crown. Tried different torque on the action screws 20 to 25 inch lbs seems the best. Removed barrel grub screws and retorqued to 30 inch lbs. Disassembled the bolt cleaned polished and light ly lubed. Trigger is pretty decent 2.5 lbs. Eley high velocity is the most accurate and consistent so far. 1” ten shots at 50 2 “ at 100. Not bad for a cheap 22.

For someone who thinks the stock on this rifle is dumb and wanted to get a Boyd’s walnut or laminate sock for it, what Anschutz model would you order the stock for?

Maybe search the forums, it's been mentioned a few times and from what I can remember there is a stock that is "close" to the right fit but is not the right fit and would require hand inletting and hand fitting.

You might be better contacting buddy above that says he can make a custom stock.... I'm guessing out of wood but he hasn't said?
This rifle's stock is the trigger guard so there would need to be a trigger guard made and fit into a wood stock as well.

Have you tried the stock Ungrateful? I have no idea of it's intelligence, :) but the fit and usefulness of it surpassed my initial preconceived feelings and thoughts!

That said, I typically prefer standard wrist stocks to pistol grips so I "get it" for the folks that are not stoked.

are they still in stock? Years ago I had the one with the longer barrel. Shot fine but ejection was very weak and often cases stayed in the loading port. Had to shake it out for the next round. My boys didn't like that rifle. I liked the CZs for the reliability and positive ejection. How do these new ones, especially the short barreled X models performing in that area?
