Anyone else experiencing INSANELY long times to get LTATTs? I'm at 7+ weeks and the club (EESA) is warning us not to call in because it will "delay everyone". My friend last year got his in 5 days, and we've had a board change since then, so I'm wondering if the delay is actually with the CFO office, or our "ATT" guy at the range just isn't doing his job. So it's longer to get an LTATT than it is to get your RPAL. lol. Anyone else verify that they are running TWO MONTHS behind on LTATTs in Ontario?

Im not able to get some informatiom via rcmp website, still error message. Called in the app is at the cfo. Picture scanned allready.Anyone an ideahow long it can take from there?

April 29 Challenged CFSC (long gun course)
April 30 Mailed Application for PAL with R endorsement via Registered mail
May 05 Application received at CFC
June 02 Ap showed up online with notation "addtional info required, you will be contacted"
June 06 Got letter asking for CRFSC report to be sent by fax or mail
June 6/7/8 Completed CRFSC and passed
June 9 Faxed restricted course report to CFC
June 9 Status changed to "processing"
June11 Called early AM to check and they asked for one of my two sponsers to call in. I called one and he called in immediately
June11 Now shows license issued (gives number) and says I should receive it by mail within 14 days.

37 days from them receiving the application to issuing the RPAL....not nearly as bad as I expected especially when you consider the 28 day waiting period.

Can't wait to start shopping!!!!

Any reason you waited to be contacted before doing the CRFSC?

Only available course date was June 6/7 and I had be registered in that course since April. So, on the advice of the lady at the CFC, I applied for my RPAL right after I got the CFSC and then sent the CRFSC report in after I passed the course. That way the 28 day wait was already past. It was just coincidence that I got the request to send in the CRFSC report the day I was starting the course.

If I had waited until I had passed both courses before starting the apllication process I'd probably be looking at late July or early Aug.

My 18 year old went from a minor to and RPAL in 28 days (had both courses years ago)....received the missing some info letter, called the 800 number spoke to an officer and just had to have one of the references call in....it was showing approved on the website the next day....I'm impressed!

Today June 13th (Exactly 28 days after application reception), this showed up:

Application Received on: 2014/05/16

Current Status: Your application has completed initial processing. It is now in progress. Please check the status again at a later date.

5 months almost to the day from stepping in the door at the firearms course, I was actually able to legally bring my own purchased restricted firearm to the gun range. Total time including waiting for an opening in a safety course? 9 months. Was it worth it? Well obviously, but as I look back I can see how it really is designed to dissuade people from getting their RPALs. Congrats to everyone who has run the government gauntlet, and best wishes to those who are just beginning or somewhere in the middle :)

My license was finally issued yesterday, June 13th. They received my pal/RPAL application on Jan 27th, just about five months. Was with the alberta CFO waiting on approval since the middle of March. Thank god, seemed like a year.

Mine was approved on day 58 after them receiving it (received April 17, approved June 14). Two weeks of that was it sitting at the SK CFO, though.

Not including the mandatory 28 waiting period they seem to be processing applications through to approval in 8-10 days....not bad

RPal time frame for me:
May 3rd did course. Mailed May 5.
May 7 Was Received.
June 5 Showed up on website. Saying initial process has started.
June 5 Called in and one reference did their interview.
June 5 Website now saying "Your application has completed initial processing. It is now in progress. Please check the status again at a later date."
Hopefully wont be to much longer.
