Shorten PAL Approval Times

Well I called in to the Alberta CFO today.. Just to send them my membership card for the gun club I joined..
The nice lady gave me my number over the phone. She told me that I could try to use it but gun shops are not supposed to sell anything without producing the card. I asked her about online purchases. She said they would probably reject the ATT as they know I don't have my card yet.
Oh well I will just wait! She said it might even be here this week.

Got my RPAL in the mail 31 days after application received, got handgun on order, store called the CFO for me, then I called the CFO, and they made me a blanket ATT, any range in the province, any time, any day. 45 days start to finish.1 Gotta love it!
mine was recieved on the 8th of March, and was issued today (April 5th)
now to stare at my mailbox for a week lol

....Still happy They show it received the day it was signed for---not today which it showed online. Just have to fax my firearms tests to them and do my phone interviews hopefully my test returns soon ....One small step for man kind haha

So annoying. If they were going to harass us with a registry system they could at least step up their game ......Imagine a world where even with this whole bureaucratic process still in existence, but more efficient gov. methods.
DO safety firearms coure-get instructor to call in with the results and authorize it over the phone (10 minutes)
Send application in online or at the store or over the phone with someone authorized to say you are "John ###y Max" (Max 1-7days)
License number emailed with hard copy followed in mail---Alongside a Blanket ATT number you can just print out to save time. (1day-7days)
Thank you card sent from the Gov. for dealing with their BS --(couple days but it would be priceless)....
Just made a major recommendation to you RCMP, you don't have to pay me ...as long as you guys stick to the new plan. Damn I feel bad for everyone in the same boat as me, this daydreaming is about as interesting it gets waiting for snail mail and our Fiberal Ontario gov.'s approval.

My PAL/RPAL should be on its way in the mail now Can someone tell me how to request an ATT?

Hi all finaly got my pal approved on the fri 1 april 2011 yay <3 now need to wait for in to come in the mail me think? >< but got the pal # so im not sure but can i buy things now or still need to wait for the card? was thinking of ordering online? before i got my card yet or do i have things wrong?

you can buy online or private...
no store will sell to you. well, thats a lie no store would start the transfer without seeing the card, however they will let you pay for it and keep it in there safe until your properly licensed

Well a couple of the stores that I tried to buy from told me no way without my card.. I tried to buy some ammo..
Marstar took my number on a pistol, but they asked for the expiry date.. Of course I don't have it without my card. She said "No prob" and she would start the process.
So I think it really depends. I don't think any brick and mortar store will sell to you without your card.

Rtangri. Spoke to the RCMP today and the lady told me that she advises all people from Ontario to send ahead their application with a note that the certified results will follow. Once you have them, call in and get your file #. You can then simply fax in your results. They key is
The key is to get the application in to start your 28 days. No interviews will take place but once your certificates are recieved, your 28 days will be close to finished and things will move.

I'm glad its in the processing state, but damn...the wait for the test results is so painfully slow...
Oh well, at least I'm finally on the road to see the Wizard right? haha
Don't feel like the 28 day period is going to apply to me lol. Oh well, enough #####ing.
Put myself some money down on a SW MP9. Used another MP9 last couple times (was a ROs who's a real good guy)...loved it, not so much with the glock 19 and 22.
