Shorten PAL Approval Times

Got my license in the mail today, drove out to McAdam and purchased a Beretta PX4 Storm. Felt a whole bunch of guns, and the PX4 fit my hand and felt the best out of all of them.

They said I need to join a club first to get the temp ATT. I know I could fight it and put up a stink about it, but that would take awhile, and I was planning on joining a club anyways. Hoping to get that done tomorrow.
 
28 day wait period ended today,

Feb 11 - Took PAL course and passed test
Feb 15 - Registered mailed form and test results to RCMP
Feb 21 - Canada post shows mail received and signed for at RCMP
Mar 02 - Now shows as "In Progress" on RCMP website
Mar 21 - Now shows as approved and mailed on RCMP website
Mar 29 - Plastic shows up in the mail

Note that I called them around a week after they signed for the mail. The lady on the phone said that they have no record of my application or of receiving it. But that didn't mean that they don't have it... it was just not entered in the system.

I'm also guessing the 28 day thing is automated. Mine showed up online as approved exactly 28 days after they received it.

yeah, like i had said either this page, or the last one its a computer controlled system as soon as 28 days are over(12.00amthat day) you are approved.

This is the same boat I'm in, except they received mine on 2011/03/03 :)
 
kylehca.. It must be 28 full 24 hour periods..

I'm willing to bet that tonight your status changes. Exact same thing happened to me, I checked on the 28th day.. Nothing.. Checked on the 29th and it was changed..

Don't get excited yet.. You have another 5 - 9 day wait for the card. All the stores I tried to buy from here with just my RPAL number wouldn't sell me anything. Told me I have to produce the card. So keep biting the bullet...
 
Thanks Travellerw, I will hopefully see a change after midnight tonight.
Pending approval, I can't wait until I can go shooting my future Gen 4 Glock 17 at the range.

Mine has been issued as of checking the site this morning!
Seems like I had to wait the 28 days, even though mine was an upgrade from POL. I did not do the pre-emptive calling in for interviews once my application showed in the system, I just let it run it's course on their schedule.
- Sent registered from BC on Mar. 7
- Rec'd on Mar. 11
- Entered system on Mar. 24
- Interviews completed on Apr. 5
- "License has been issued" Apr. 8
- We'll see how long it takes to get here in the mail!

I called and my license is at the office of the Saskatchewan CFO for final approval.
after 29 days of waiting you get a little eager
 
POLO, I'm in that boat waiting for stamped results,

Lady at the Ontario CFOs told me it takes about 5 weeks presently :(
