Shorten PAL Approval Times

I think the reason they are holding you up is so that you can keep posting and we can keep looking at your avatar pic :p That sounds like a good reason to me.

I called for updates every two days, and had my references call soon as I had my interview ;) Definitely speeds things up. When I called for my LTATT, the girl was like,"This just got approved"! lol

Yeah I am calling every couple days as well, Going to call today and see, Since yesterday when i called i had to sit on hold for liek 18 min (First time they didnt pick up on the liek the second ring)

Just got off the phone with them everything is good now i am waiting on the CFO from alberta so they said call back after the 18th and we will go from there.

Fedex tracking show they received my application on April 8. Nothing shows yet on the online website application status. I phoned them today to check my status, and after providing them this info they said it currently takes 2-3 weeks for applications to show online as received.

So I talked to them yesterday they said Monday is my 28 days and I can call back then will the transfer me directly to the CFO for alberta or do I have to ask to talk to them?

Thanks

As far as I understand it, the CFC will transfer you to the provincial CFO at your request when you call in, and I believe you can call the CFO directly as well.

The process they use is the CFC route and sometimes they refuse to transfer, which means you just call back and ask someone else. Good luck finding the CFO direct number.
Alberta's CFO number was 780-495-7799 but can't say if that is current.

Once the CFC status said approved for me, I called the 1-800-731-4000, and hit 1 for English and 5 I believe, for LTATT. You then get transferred automatically to the Alberta CFO.

Just got off the phone with the CFO, they said the Ontario office is about 2 weeks behind in approving licenses due to volume. All my checks have been completed and everything checks out at the RCMP side of things, just have to wait for the Ontario office to catch up

Your 28-days countdown timer started on that date.

So my 28 Days is up on monday should i wait to see if it approves on its own on tuesday and if not then call?

Do people just ask for a status update once they get to the CFO?

thanks

Just thought I'd share my experience with getting my PAL. After deciding to get my PAL I ran across this site and this thread. I read through it and there are some excellent tips here. As for what I did: I think the biggest thing was I sent in my application BEFORE I had taken my CFSC and received the results . I sent in the the PAL application on March 14th, no registered mail, no signature required as I knew it would be a while before I took my safety course. It was received on March 18th and was online on the 29th. I actually didnt take my saftey course until 2 weeks after that. At which point I faxed in my results, being in Alberta I received them as soon as I passed the test. I phoned in a week later and there was nothing else they needed and said I should wait until April 15th when my license would be issued. Low and behold I went online this morning and it has been issued and is in the mail!

I think the 28 days was in large part due to the fact I sent in the application right away and then faxed in the course results. I also never had to do an interview and I don't think my references did either, it is only the non-restricted.

So whats the update for DAy 36 for you? :p

Background: Application received by CFC on March 10th

Yesterday, April 14th CFC said Sask CFO received my application March 30th for final approval and "that has only been 2 weeks", they recommended calling next week if I haven't seen a change in my status, that would be 42 days (love how things take so long )
Would it really be of any benefit to call Sask CFO today rather than wait till next week?
