Shorten PAL Approval Times

Odds are he will get silence. If something was flagged they are not about to say anything until the end. Might be something with him or one of his references.

I have 3 assault charges they sent me a letter asking for details of the charge I never responded in time and they said that they have to collect my history themselves and that I'm not allowed to contact the reviewing officer

Well that will do it, the best thing you can do at this point is nothing.

Hey all,

I'm in the same boat as some of the people that posted last (they got my application on Jan 23) so about 3 weeks , and I'm itching to see it online, but nothing yet.

Now, I'm beginning to doubt myself on whether I'm entering the information right, especially the birth place field.
On my application I have the name of the town which actually consists of 2 words and then the name of the county that the town is in.

I can think up a whole bunch of different combinations that provides and it depends on how it is entered in their system.

Such as:
Is the field case sensitive?
Do I capitalize each word in the 2-worded town name? Do I only capitalize the first word?
Do I put spaces between the words?
Do I put in the County name?
If so, do I put it in like "city name, county" ie. with a comma & space separating the two?

Argh, I'm driving myself crazy thinking it's something I'm not putting in right.

Anybody have any experince on what input that birthplace field expects?

Thanks.

Ok so I called in again for the forth time but this time I was very polite and explained my situation very carefully and the lady SPEAKING CLEAR ENGLISH explained to me that even though it's in review and I can't speak to the officer directly unless contacted by him/her I can send in a letter with the details requested earlier and updated contact info for my wife and not only will it give the reviewing officer the option of using my information and bypassing the lengthy timeline of getting the info themselves it will also show my desire to get the ball rolling. She gave me a fax line and my applicatoon number so I'll send out the requested info tonight

Well that's promising. Dont know why you needed to capitalize where you did though everyone i have talked to there have been more than competent in speaking english. Reason i was saying to not call in is they track every call and probably what you say if you say something off. You have a special situation and last thing you want to come across as is someone who is really itching to have a gun what with assault charges etc. Not saying the charges were warranted (know someone in the same boat whose ex was a psycho) just that it puts you in a different position. If they said to send in, do it.
Good luck!

Dont know exactly but i will be able to tell you when i know. I had my references call last Thursday and suspect i should have it by end of mknth in my hands from what i have read
Anyone know the approximate time between references called and showing up online as "issued"? (Ontario preferably..lol)

I'll put in my timeline as well i guess:

Dec 12 Took Course
Dec 17 Mailed in application without exam result
Jan 16 Showed up online
Jan 23 Received exam results
Jan 27 Faxed exam results

As of Monday they are still not ready for my references to call in, I have been calling twice a week on Monday and Thursdays.

Update: Called them just now, apparently I missed a question on the application, didn't check off one of the boxes so they sent out a notice today. I will have to wait for it in the mail, fill out the form and mail it back to them.

When you get the form call them and ask for a fax number, save you a couple days.

Yes the race is on. Hope I did not miss a box going to have to look at my photo copy of my application with my luck I did. I'm taking a sit back for a bit approach and then start to call. will keep you updated on when I start to call.

I'm at 62 days now since they received it. Called yesterday and talked to a very friendly person. Probably the first person to really put some time into explaining what was going on with my application although I did laugh just a bit when she said they were just scanning my picture and then it would be sent off to the Provincial CFO. When I scan something it's usually done in a few seconds... not days.

I'm paranoid about this as well. I was born in St. City.

So is it
St. City
St City
Saint City
etc etc

Saw that my card was charged today. Now I'm extra anxious about inputting my info correctly.

January 23, 2015 - Application delivered
February 12, 2015 - Credit card charged

Well you have to figure into the mix the exposure to the scanner UV rays, bet the federal industry standard for max rays allowed is one scan a day. Then factor in holidays, vacation, sick days and upgrading.
