Shorten PAL Approval Times

I would give it about a week after it shows that it was received in Miramichi in order for it show up online. Calling a day or two after it gets their likely won't help as they have quite a few applications to get online. Just be assured that the day it shows up there is the day your 28 days start.

I assume you are applying for RPAL if you will be asking about references calling in? From what I gathered when I called, if it's just a PAL then they do not contact references.

Mine still isnt on the website but now i want to ask is the 28 day waiting time include weekends? Also does the 28 day mean it takes 28 days for it to be posted online on the Check Pal Status page. Thanks

28 days does not mean business days. And yes your application won't show up until closer to your waiting period is done. Between 22 and 28 days

So lets see if I understand this correctly, I sent out my application today. :p

1 ) Send out application with Registered Mail
2 ) Call in the Firearms dept of the RCMP in Miramichi a day of two after the tracking says that it was delivered, ask for the application number/app ref so one of my references can call in.
3 ) Wait 27 days for the application to be sent out to the CFO
4 ) CFO gets my app for final approval
5 ) Profit?

No do not call after they receive it, there is nothing they can do until your waiting period is up. Wait until it shows up online and then you can call and ask for a reference number.

No it doesn't show up online until your waiting period is up and until it is online they can do nothing because you're still in a waiting period

Yup RPAL, gonna be an issue for the online thing though, because I don't remember how I spelt my city of birth and there is a few ways of spelling it. >,<

Well they give you about 5-9 attempts so just make sure you write down what you are trying so you remember what it is when you get it right and don't retry the wrong ways over and over. lol

Hopefully I get it right :p. Will they use the exact spelling on my application? There are dashes in my city of birth, I don't know how their database stores the info sooo i'd have to try at least 6 different ways >,<. Should of screen capped my application.

Also, quiet happy. Canada Post will deliver my application by tomorrow.

"2016/09/25 17:55 | DIEPPE, NB | In transit" was surprised to see this today. Although it has been in transit for about 3 hours and 10 minutes now, so I assume its sitting on the truck for it to be delivered tomorrow :D. I Guess I can have everything done by the end of the week. Hopefully...

It shows online usually 6-14 days after they receive it. The "start" pf your 28 day wait is when the receive it.

After it shows online, you can call. Before that is useless.

This is all covered in post #1.

It was shown online toady!!! Now the real question is how long u guys think, it stated that my application was received on 2016/09/12. Guesses?

Your 28 days starts on that day it was received. So long as no info was missing and you don't need references called then it could be issued on the 28th day. Then you are looking at up to two weeks to receive it in the mail.

Hi all,

Just wanted to make sure I'm clear on this, so I'll explain the situation.

I passed the non-restricted safety course this past weekend. The instructor would have mailed the results off today.
I'm in Ontario, so the first page says i can mail off my application to Miramichi before I get my stamped results back in the mail. If I send in my application early without checking off the "Results Enclosed" box, what do I do when I receive the results? Do I mail them separately when I receive them? Or will they have them automatically?

I have no intention of getting any other license, so it sounds like my references may not need to be called. If I get them to call still, would that make it faster overall?

Thanks!

Send the application registered mail. That is VERY important so you know when it got there. The day it is received is the day you start your 28 day waiting period. Once they put it into the system (online) they will notice you didn't include your results and will mail you a letter stating such. In that letter is a date you must mail in your results by (Usually about 10 weeks but don't quote me). Also in the letter is a fax number you can mail the letter AND your test results back to them at. Or you can print off your course reports (as I believe in ontario they are only sending back PDF's of your report back to you) and mail it back with the same letter they send you in the envelope they enclose.

Hope this helps.

send your application right away to get your waiting period started. When your results arrive fax em in, you can call the cfo office for your application file number to put on/with the fax.

Thanks! I believe it does. As soon as I can meet up with my references this week, I'll send it off to get things started. Then I'll send them the results with registered mail as well to make sure that it arrives.

I sent my application in via registered mail. It was received on 2016/09/01. One of my references received a letter to call in which she did yesterday (2016/09/28). I checked my online statues today (2016/09/29) to find that the application has been approved and my license has been issued.

My only problem is I'm a long haul truck driver and I'm not going to be home for 4-6 weeks.

Hope this provides some encouragement for all those who are waiting.
