Kept checking my online status last couple weeks and nothing came up so I figured they were just back logged...I'm a patient guy so it wasn't stressing me out.
Day off today so I thought I'd give them a call. The very nice lady on the phone found my application and said I was missing my city of birth. I was born in Hong Kong back in 1971 so I had put in Hong Kong as both city and country of birth. We had an enjoyable conversation where I educated her that before 1997, Hong Kong was a British Colony and its city/country status used to be a bit "unique", whereas today it is now officially Hong Kong, China. We talked a bit about its "Special Administrative Region" status from Mainland China and the peculiarities of government and economy.
Anyways, back to the point...
My application is now showing online...

I was hoping she would transfer me on the spot to do my interview but she didn't and stated the application process will take a total of 45-90 days. She was nice so I didn't try her patience. I thanked her for her time and wished her a good day.
Moral of the story - don't pay any heed to their "45 day" period. If you don't see your application online after 2 weeks call in.
I just checked my mailbox and wouldn't you know it...there's a letter from the RCMP telling me to call the 1-800 number due to missing application information lol. 2 weeks wasted
