Well, if it were me.... looking at the current state of affairs in north america.... I'd be making sure all my firearms are in excellent working order LOL

Unfired, unissued, un-refurbish, and all original are 99.9% unprovable claims to make for any 70 year old, surplus military fire arm.

Its a gun. It was made for shooting. So shoot it. Then clean it thoroughly

Guess you werent around for the marstar sks? They simply were not fired since leaving the factory an it doesnt take a degree in rocket appliances to tell. Anyway back on track...

Same goes for the MARSTAR carbines: re-purposed 50-60 year old surplus. High condition refurbs.

Rather sad observation but clearly one with some substance. The US has evolved into the most advanced country in the Third World. It could get ugly if Trump does not go quietly into the ash can of history.

Take Care

Ah perhaps. One must throw enough stuff at the wall to be occasionally correct. It gives one something to talk about after lunch at the club, with a Scotch in hand.

As you age you find yourself most often wrong with your conclusions about the future. Only the young are correct all the time. They never age, only their faces and names change.

With that bit of nonsense dealt with, I better pack my gear. The range should be empty tomorrow.

Take Care

Detailed photos?

Hey Boris baby they had photos posted at one time of the rifles they were selling . $189 or something of that nature . 1968 MFG if my memory serves me correctly . I asked a buddy about them and he talked me out of buying one . they were brand new in the box . I'm kicking myself for not buying one . I saw one at a local gun show ages ago . a friend bought it for $180 off a guy who had purchased it from marstar. I guess you have nothing better to do like before .

Soviet SKS production ended in 1958.

The oiginal box for the Soviet SKS45 was a wooden crate of 20 carbines.

In no way, shape, or form were the corrugated, paper boxes from Marstar original. And the carbines the contained were 50-60 year old military surplus.

The reason they were in such high condition after more than half a century was regular Red Army maintenace and refinish and/or commercial refurbishment prior to export.

Golden and blued bayos, EP stamps on the butt plates, mix of fresh and faded stamps at the crossbolts, blued or painted crowns, unblemished wood finishes, differences in stamped serial fonts, etc-- all indications of post-production maintenance, sanding, refinish and, upkeep.

Extremely high condition and high value carbines. Absolutely. But not all original, unfired condition.

Holy F. The ones marstar was advertising as chinese type 56 and unissued/unfired were exactly that. They were not refurb. They are all matching, unfired from factory test. They came from multiple factory codes and some were even clandestine, meaning no factory marks. Educate yourself on the topic before you make assumptions without all the facts. The only change made was mag pinning.

apple :: oranges

Soviet ended sks production in 1958-- with a total of 2.5-2.7million produced at 2 arsenals.

Type56 production ended in 1984, but the Chinese were still turning out standard configuration SKS carbines dated as late as 2009 (and possibly later).
--20million+ carbines produced over
--30years of military production and a
--Massive cache of NOS parts from nearly
--200 arsenals and factories.

That's why NIB commercial sks's are still available from China.
