Ok. Thanks for your professional opinion. Guess i might as well shoot my factory 26,306 and Ghost gun, since the experts claim they are issued and refurb... darn there goes my high end collection...

Dear Boris
Surely you know about the sks. However, I and many other Canadians can attest that the Marstar guns were not refurbed guns. They brought them in by the thousands and they and many other retailers sold them for $150-200 or so, an unheard of bargain before that time considering the condition.
In my opinion, you really don't know what you are talking about regarding these Chinese sks's, and have taken a hostile know it all attitude.
Lots of photos of those Marstar sks's can be found on this site. Please do your own research, then start a thread or revive an old one if you really believe those guns were refurb or something else.
from the marstar ad:
"

Chinese Military SKS rifles
These are the “real thing” they are military production SKS rifles, manufactured in the early 1960s for the Chinese armed forces and placed in long term storage, where they remained until Marstar purchased them a few months ago.
These rifles should not be confused with previous offerings in the market of Chinese civilian versions.
These Chinese military rifles have heavier stocks than their “civilian” counterparts,
they feature machined receivers and chromed lined barrels....
IN SHORT THESE RIFLES ARE: True military models.... They are brand new.... They do feature ALL matching numbers....
They are NOT refurbished.... They are NOT reconditioned.... They are NOT arsenal re-manufactured....
Of course the magazine capacity has been tastefully reduced to five rounds in accordance with Canadian law.
No ugly welds, no unattractive added parts in the magazine

Marstar's facebook posting from 2010 on these sks's. Call them what you will, I don't care.
There were apparently 70,000, and they sold in Canada for dirt cheap. Looking just like these.

2 crates of pretty guns = 70,000 unissued, all original, un-fired, non-refurbs, you say?
Yeah, Nope.
NO that is not what he said don't be an A$$. You are beginning to sound like that retarded President you guys are stuck with. I don't have a dog in this show except for the fact I passed on these guns when I knew at the time I should have bought one.
Just because you folks could not buy them does not mean they did not exist. Are you aware that Canada produced the Inglis 9MM, a version of the P35 FN Hi-Power in 1944/45. To this day there are unfired examples in store with the Cdn Army. During our involvement in the Afghanistan/Iraq conflicts some of the unfired, unissued pistols were issued to our soldiers. You can come up with some explanation as to why they still exist but they do.
In a country with a population as large as it is with a huge standing army why would you not expect cases of unissued rifles not to exist in China? It boggles my mine that you seem to be so set on your opinion when in fact you don't not sh@t what you are talking about. When were you in China last?

They were collected, polished and cleaned for sale, and then cosmo-dipped, and crated out of sequence just prior to export in 2010.
Another indication that the Marstar guns were prepped and cosmo-dipped just prior to export is the out-of-sequence order of the crated carbines. In the facebook photos they show us a 15th and 16th year carbines side-by-side in the same crate.
1509703 (15th year/1970) and 1610371 (16th year/1971)
side by side in the crate:
Collected serial number data for this arsenal -- /256\ formerly /625\-- indicates that it was capable of producing at least 20,000 carbines per year. That would mean that the two rifles in the FB photos were produced one year apart. As such, it is virtually impossible that they would have ended up side-by-side in the same crate if they were cosmo-dipped and crated as unissued, new production carbines directly after manufacture.
While we might expect to see out-of-sequence carbines from the same year in the same crate, side-by-side rifles from separate years of production is a clear indication that the Marstar guns were had not spent four decades in storage since D.O.M.
They were collected, polished and cleaned for sale, and then cosmo-dipped, and crated out of sequence just prior to export in 2010.
Who the f@ck are you anyway? You do realize mags had to be pinned prior to import right? And who would take the time to re-organize after pinning?
And this might actually matter if not for the fact that the Marstar Type56's weren't shipped in wooden crates:
In wooden crates is how they arrived at the prep facility straight from the "factory". But they were shipped to Canada in cardboard boxes. To save on weight and costs, and also to ship larger quantities, they most likely arrived in oversized, re-inforced cardboard boxes, similar to many of the US shipments of the last decade.
I gather you're not much of a stickler for details. Well, I am.
"Just the facts, ma'am."
