i've noticed that the paint was more nicely done on those with birch stocks. the ones with laminated stocks were more roughly done in comparison.
i think the SKS's look more original if they were blued. so, how hard is it to remove the black paint and then re-blue?
i am thinking to soften the black paint and wipe it off as much as possible, and then sand-blast the rifle. finally, re-blue. don't know how the bluing will turn out, but at least it should be better then the black paint!
