SKS Ukraine

There are some in Canada, as well as the PTRD (a single shot bolt action shooting the same caliber and created around the same time). The only issue is finding ammo (there are some guys on here who have been searching for a while to try and feed these).

That’s too bad that they can’t find any ammo. It looks like it would be really fun to shoot!

Did you notice the machine gun at the bottom right corner? It looks like WW I Maxime? looks like these guys got their hands on some really nice historical arms...

Yes Swartz loze or something

Just think... If some hardcore collectors got over there, they could sell a small number of antiques and outfit a battalion with modern equipment for the price they'd get.

Given how tightly controlled personal arms were during the Soviet era, and all these antiques getting pulled out of who knows where, it really makes you wonder what's stashed in barns and sheds and wrapped in oiled canvas and buried shallow in the ground around the Canadian countryside.

People in Ussr never give up firearms they hide them because they did not know what happens in 20-30 years. They wanted to protect their family.
As to collector getting there with firearms impossible they would not sell anything they would loose their collection because people would take firearms from them.

I'm glad for that too. Anyone who wants to play soldier here, they can just join up and do something really productive with themselves.

Edit: The only grey fuzzy place in between with one iota of common sense is organized service rifle competition.

Sigh.....

so there is still Russian anti tank rifles over in Europe hmm any idea what it would take to track down a bunch and export/import them id buy a ptrs 41 or a ptrd like that if there was more of them to be had also the enbloc clips for the ptrs are scarce finding more of them would be awesome. for those that don't know the designer of the ptrs 41 is the same who designed the sks the sks is a scaled down version of the ptrs. also both ATR's were designed and put into production in under a month to get some anti tank weapons to the front lines

I was thinking the other way around...

The collector would buy the antiques off the locals, or trade them a larger number of newer rifles in exchange for the antiques.

As for people in the USSR hiding firearms because they don't know what might happen in 20-30 years... That's just good common sense.
