I 100% need to try that. Never would have even thought of it.
It's t best way to check mag capacity. Will 5 rounds fit in your mag on a closed bolt? Or only 4, with one in the chamber?

Interesting way of loading the mag...
lol it's looks like he couldn't even close it. That was embarrassing to watch![]()
Amazing to see the SKS in use in a conflict in 2014.
For the mag versus stripper clips debate. I think we need to consider there are 30 round mags for the sks, that can also be fed (full or partial reload) with stripper clips. Seems like the best of both worlds.
The $25 baur I received was a plug n' play, tight fit and loves strippers![]()
changing mags on a sks is awkward that big duck bill makes for some interesting times I find it faster to use stripper clips I cut mine in half to hold 5rd

Actually original unmolested SKS mag is 10+1 in the pipe.
Pain in the ass to do most troops would not bother.

Tell me more about these $25 Baur mags... Specifically, where can I get one to play with?

I would agree with some of the mags. Like the metal one I got a few months ago. That one is a pita to get clicked into place. The Baur Arms mags click into place very easily. No harder then any of the other mag fed firearms I have. I've got more of them on the way. I hope they are all just as plug n' play.
