Especially with the deal CanadaAmmo has on now!
Can ams deal kills me, you basically can't afford not to buy another 1911 if your buying 1000 rounds. And don't let the norinco haters get to you.. A little slop in the slide... Sure . Reasonably accurate... Yes does it digest just about anything.. Sure does and the best part is you can hand it to a new shooter and not worry about it getting damaged ..
As for the rest... Excluding para are all awesome
They're a classic design, one of JMB's masterpiece works (though he likely would have claimed that the Hi-Power was better) and they have a huge cult following. Personally if I needed a defensive gun I'd rather have a Glock, but that's likely to catch me some flaming after all the 1911 love in this thread![]()
So I am patiently awaiting the arrival of my RPAL and while I wait I'm doing a little research to figure what I think I would like to buy and I can't believe how many 1911s are out there! I know the patents were generously sold off by Mr. Browning and thus anyone can produce them, but why are they so popular?
After over a hundred years, nothing seems to beat them.
It's still a decent pistol, maybe less and less popular for serious applications, but still decent.
The reason behind the number of 1911s on the market though is the industry behind it.
All the parts, makers, custom gunsmith, grips factories are doing everything they can to keep this platform well and alive.
So I guess I'll have to play with a 1911 when I finally get myself into a gun shop.
I'm assuming the Norc vs Kimber is just like anything else: cheaper materials with sloppier tolerancese vs. better materials and tighter tolerances?
