So what have you modded on your SKS?

is that the Xcr pistol mag adapter? if so how was the install?

All three have mag adapters. I didn't do it myself, Hi Cal did an awesome job of the installs on two of them. Tan one was already installed when I bought it. The installs are very slick and work perfectly.

I don't live near them either, they will do the work and ship. I know people have done them for themselves, but I wanted a nice and clean job that works without messing around with it, and I'm no machinist.

I modded one with a sling.....

Have nothing against people who mod them but I like them the way they are. It's an sks what else you need? What else is it supposed to do? At the end of the day it's still an sks. To me it's like people who pimp up the 10/22, nothing wrong with that but I'll keep mine simple just cause it's a 10/22 does the semi auto .22 stuff great but still at the end of the day it's still a 10/22.

I would like to do the sling mod to mine, I also took off the bayonet. I know this sounds bad, but I may swap out the trigger if I can get one of those aftermarket ones.

Hi

Love the SKS platform, but found at 6'2" the stock is way to short and my older eye's have trouble with the rear sight. Adding a new stock and peep sight (hical one) has made a world of difference, also easy to return to original configuration.

That is a weird looking animal now..

If thats what you want to do , go ahead. Your not doing anything to the rifle that cant be easily undone.

Well I'd hate to downgrade my SKS by putting one of those flimsy tapco or ATI stocks, or especially the duckbill magazines that don't hold open on empty LOL

I mean they look like call of duty guns in the pictures, I'll give them that, but you're actually hampering the platform and wasting money once you've installed the stuff.

Have you shot an SKS in both forms?

You do know the duckbills have hold open right?

Have you handled an SKS with the Tapco stock yet?

You do know that these accessory installs are reversible as well.

All I know is these upgrades make the platform friendly to shoot, I like detachable mags, I like pusgh forward mag releases, I like adjustable LOP, I like a poly stock for winter shooting, I like a peep sight, I like being about to swap mags with the bolt closed, but then again after owning ARs for 30 years guess I have lost my love of wood. :)

Anyways each to their own, whatever makes you shoot better is what it's about really, remember this is about making reverseable mods and not spending big bucks, as most of my upgrades were used parts or on sale items.

Exactly, to each his own, just having fun, there are hundreds of thousands of sks just in Canada! Why not see what you can do to it, I like mine plain but yea, I am getting a peep sight of some sort, and I may glass bed one as an experiment, to see if it makes the rifle/me more accurate!

I would have to agree with you... went to the store to get a traditional stock that was just a bit longer but when I tried this one it fitted like a glove and the sights lined up perfect, would never have guessed I would walk out of the store with this one.

Spose you bubba' d the crap out of the ammo too! Wrote come git sum on each casing, etched a cross in the top of the bullet so they will kill vampires or zombies and such!:)

Common misconception. The crosses carved into the bullet actually make it fly faster. Any vampire or zombie killing ability is purely coincidental.

Make it two cans and you have a deal!:):):):)

Your a tougher negotiator, than the guys at the gun shows!:)

That's what the guy who traded those magic beans for my paycheque said! I can't wait for spring to plant them!
