SRV2 Siberian Reviews

Got mine today. i was expecting more for a 1700 $ rifle. it was pretty basic package, no papers, no extras. just one pmag and a rifle. Surprised.

even my ruger pcc had some tools and cable lock

EDIT: Verified . it has updated firing pin. i guess they sent it to all dealers and they changed before shipping i guess.

Yes same here, but seriously, that's just cheap garnish, the manual is online, the trigger lock is not required for dealers by law.

I want a working gun, the rest I don't care.

I already have a MRX Bison Scout and even with some hick ups, it is one of the most fun rifle to shoot and I don't have the SRV2 yet but I expect no less. The ergonomics just look amazing to me, the stock is a Zhukov folder, the rest is all there, bolt release where it should be, dual safety, easy to dissemble.

Yes, you can improve it with AR parts if you like, up to you, watching the reviews of the WK series 1 and 2, those look like garbage just on paper and looks. Maybe they work too, sure, I was close in my decision but sure do not want to drop one 1 K more on the next step up, which is also at least 1 pound heavier - I do not like additional weight - which was a major factor to me. That is why I sold my SL8.

I also talked to BCL today and they told me that they are a bit backed up right now, also due to the uncertainty with bill C21.

I just love the design of their products and as I said, very happy so far.

I have seen a few reviewers comment of stock height creating need for higher optic mount like a 1/3 co-witness. I am on the fence on one of these and I if I do decide to get one plan to run iron sights.

Does any one have experience running std 1.4" height irons or optic for that matter, do you really have to squish down on the stock to get a proper sight picture?

Risers can be bought anywhere if needed. Cheap on amazon and they do their job, no need to spend $300 on a high cantilever mount. It also depends what you will use the rifle for.

I shot one with an optic in a standard AR height (1.5") mount and it felt fine.

It's a buddy's rifle. I dropped a Razor gen 2 4.5-27 in a 1.5" mount that was waiting for an action to come back from a rebarrelling on it to test accuracy at 100 with PMC greentips and my 75gr handloads. Shot about 30 rounds, all from prone (bipod and rear bag). Then shot it again a bit later (a mag or 2) standing offhand with the 1-6 that he installed on it. Not an in depth review, by any standard but I don't recall the mount height giving me any issues.

Off the top of my head, 10rds of PMC greentips was 3 moa and 9rds of my 75gr handloads was 1.3 moa and a 10th round opened it up to just under 2 moa but the case for the last round had a split neck. Was pretty tired brass scheduled to be tossed after that firing. Figure 1.5 moa with handloads is definitely possible.
 
Just had my new Siberian out to the range for the first time. Bit of upper/lower wobble, horrifically bad trigger, plan on replacing it with anything else! 150rds through with no hiccups. Showed very similar results to RugbyDave. About 3moa with PMC m855, and right around 1.5 moa with hand loaded 75hpbt shooting 10rd groups, feel like it could do better. Nothing was measured, shot with a 1-4x in a PEPR mount, which honestly feels kinda low, something higher would definitely be more comfortable.

I think a better trigger would definitely help shrink groups a bit. The stock (milspec) trigger is pretty ####ty.
 
Got mine all put together and to the range, no hiccups at all.

Tried to keep the rifle as light as possible while still being able to stretch its legs. So I got a primary arms PLX c 1-8x in a nightforce unimount. About as light a scope/mount combo I could find. Put a tiny hand stop from Slate Black ind. and put an A2 flash hider on. With a loaded Beowulf mag it weighs 9.75lbs. If MRA ever decides to make NR barrels again like they did before 2020 I’d be the first to buy one for this. I’m also hoping they make a handguard for this as I believe there could be some weight savings there too.

I’ve ordered a titanium A2 flash hider, it’s only 32g so it’s something.

ALG act is an half decent trigger at an affordable price, also the Timney impact from Brownells.

Thanks for the heads up.

Just another remark. The newly imported RUAG 223 ammo is optimized for a 10:1 twist, the SRV2 has a 7:1 twist, so I'd rather stick with another match grade ammo for those "tight groups". LOL, waiting for comments.

I just tryed federal gold match ? 69 grain, it was terrible.
I honestly think you’re going to have to reload to get this thing to shoot 1.5 MOA consistently.
And I don’t think a 1-4 power scope is gonna cut it .

I didn’t realize it was 1-7 twist though, I thought 1-8 was the most popular twist , for these type rifles.

If ounces matter, the Aero Precision lightweight mount is an ounce lighter than your current mount

I'm gonna ask the buddy who's Siberian I borrowed what kinda results he's had recently. He picked up a bunch of different 75/77gr match ammo to test and put a TT in his. I honestly generally skip all the 68/69gr stuff. It costs the same as the 75/77gr ammo but you get a solid BC bump from the heavier bullets. I wanna say off the top of my head, running 69gr ammo in one of my carbines made it a 2mph gun and with 75s it was a 3mph gun...
