Stag 10 build and range review

Probably not many people.
Machining a unique bolt must cost more than buying an ATRS Modern sporter, XCR or SLR.
Would also need a special barrel.
Lot of trouble for a heavy bulky Franken .223.

For the guys in this thread with the magpul UBR stocks... Did you run the included spacer in the buffer tube? I'm in the process of building mine, and am running a flatware carbine spring and Maple ridge armory ar-10 h2 carbine buffer.

Without the spacer in place, when my buffer bottoms out in the tube, the BCG is buried into the buffer tube with a slight gap before the gas key. Does this sound about right? In my instructions that came with the stock, it indicates not to use the spacer, but in other threads here guys with the ubr have said they utilized it... Hence my confusion

Yes it use it, and I use the Armaspec SRS 308/AR10 buffer system as well.

The V7 is the same weight as the Brownells Ti BCG, and almost twice the price (400USD VS 800CAD).
Low mass is still cheaper and lighter. I'm just curious about any design advantages or disadvantages of the full bolt profile in titanium vs a relieved profile such as the low mass steel options ...

Titanium has a lower tensile strength than steel, which I suspect is why we don't see a Ti version with the mass reducing cuts. Titanium is also more prone to galling, which is why they tend to come in coated options (TiN or DLC).

I'm curious if anyone has examples of either design being more fussy and harder to tune or prone to failing.

I run a JP LMOS. It’s awesome but I can’t use the FA. I think for a weight savings of 3oz at most, unless you have a need to use the FA, go low mass if it’s cheaper.

I haven’t once needed the FA in my gat btw. Running a 6.5CM stag 10 with IBI barrel and superlative gas block. FYI.

I have the brownells titanium in my stag308. It's been phenominal. With a brake and adjustable gas this gun shoots like an off the shelf 16" ar in 556

Looking at Brownells bolt carriers, titanium vs low mass: titanium is $125 (US) more and 12 oz vs low mass at 10.8 oz.
Anyone running low mass? Arguments for or against either?

tried low mass. sold it. Running a Lantac NiBoron now. Low mass makes the gun dance more imho. Standard is a little 'chunk a chunk' sounding but predictable???

But thats why there are different BCG's out there. What works for my loading and combo might not work well in yours.
