That starts when people stop enabling and turning a blind eye to people who actively prey on the community itself.
Case in point the guy who copied a rifle design and resold it under a different name to evade the FRT, took money while knowing he wasn't going to be giving them what they paid for, ratted to the RCMP to spite his ex-partners that he was court ordered to give inventory to, only to have it backfire and get 2 different kinds of rifles prohib'd (swiss arms and CZ858). At what point are people going to hold him accountable for the damage he's done to the people in the sport? If he didn't announce this rifle, I have a strong suspicion that lots more folks wouldn't be so quick to brush yet another shady business action off.
The guy quite literally took thousands of dollars knowing that he was going to claim the business as insolvent, right up until the day they announced it and locked the doors and removed any talk or questions about the store closing to hide it. Would you trust a word out of that person's mouth? Lots of new people here have no idea the things JR has been involved with in the last couple decades, really need to read up before telling someone, least of all the poor bastard that got a $4k rifle relegated to the safe or a smelter, to lighten up or let it go.
I've watched the aforementioned things play out, wasn't impressed however i figured everyone makes mistakes. But to know he essentially stole thousands from people looking for a range or gift card for someone... I won't and can't support or trust anyone or a company involved with someone that thinks that's an acceptable way to run a business.
A thieving rat has no place in any community. Buddy is the Trudeau of the gun world and I hope people have more sense than to get in bed with him.
Knowing this rifle is a copy of the MCX (an already prohibited rifle), it would be poetic to have it reclassified as a variant of it in a twist of karma, which is entirely possible. Just ask the guy at ATRS that had his rifle copied without permission and sold under a different name to try and sneak around the unfortunate FRT reclassification HIS product received.
