Sterling Arms International R18 Mk3 Part 1 Review - Specifications and Initial Impressions

... So if the dealership tells you there was a QC issue with your car (engine, transmission, whatever that's major part of), you would sign and accept the car to drive it, and conclude it's a ####ty car when you were very well notified of the issue and it's not the intended spec/quality of it?

Negative attention or criticism is still a good thing but damn, isn't it getting a little petty? It's not even released or shot any rounds yet and it looks like people just WANT IT to be a piece of junk. Have some faith or patience you miserable people.

Screw this. I'm going hunting lol.

Lol Dude calling me petty when he can't even get his point across without cussing (and don't you dare tuck tail and edit your posts again - stand by your words or go back to the McDonald's ball pit). Cute.

EXACTLY! Your words!! It hasn't shot rounds yet, it is unproven. BCL, Kodiak, all those makers said they were going to be game changers for the Canadian market and were an absolute letdown once people got them. Granted, I kind of like cheap guns that don't shoot, because it means I can tinker and turn them into reliable guns, my way. I have even said on here that I want it to work., but I am some sort of monster for not kissing Bartok's ass or assuming it will be the most incredible shooty shoot since John Moses himself.

QC caught a problem, fine. Doing one thing right doesn't give them a pass for other things. And it certainly doesn't mean we need to "volunteer" rounds for them to test a product they want to sell us... unless that's seriously how you think the world works.

More proof, less lazy marketing please.

Bartoks claims are pretty much all speculation as well, like claiming this is on par with Colt USA, DD and BCM while being out of spec aka not safe to fire.

Save us the silliness about him being a volunteer that we should donate towards, the guys a blatant shill for his best friend who is funding this rifle project with the money stolen from TSE members and customers.

Napoleon syndrome on top of having no sense of morals, what a guy to hold in such high regard.

Starting to see a trend developing here regarding who jumps in to defend select people and their actions….
And your speculation is not any better. Bartok has Mk3 along with SIG MCX, Colt Canada C8A3? and many others. Do you have physical sample in front of you with other comparable tactical rifle of quality?

And if you think I actually said we should donate to Bartok, you need to take English classes again. It was a sarcasm for him being such a demanding person to him. Hope that is easier for you to understand.

I was editing because I saw grammar mistakes since English isn't my mother tongue. I never disagreed when it needs to have live fire results. I said be patient and don't bring unrelated issue.

No way - this is entrapment.... you tell Grove to take English lessons when you can't even use it properly yourself??? Ooooh man where do I begin.

Editing posts is juvenile because it breaks the continuity for anyone else coming into the thread. Yes, this is the internet and editing is a thing, but if you have to get by with edits instead of conveying your point the first time, you character immediately comes into question.

Also, using sarcasm on the internet never goes well. Probably should avoid that.

I am patient and I will wait. That was never the issue. Morality and honesty were.

Didn't you say you were going hunting?

Wait JR got a FLOOF enjoyer on his side now ?

I have dyslexia and there are time I just completely bomb what I was trying to write out, needing to go back and edit it. If you think needing to rewrite somthing should invalidate it completely, I sure hope you don't keep a King James or even anything based on the Latin vulgate by your night stand.

Look at that I made a few mistakes and had to tweak this post even.

Iceman106, your comments are absolutely correct. I appreciate your reasonable perspective, which is refreshing amongst all of the recent negativity. I wouldn't waste your breath countering the ongoing trolling from the likes of M1008 however. He has yet to offer anything of value to the conversation. Putting him (and a few others) on ignore has cleaned up my version of the the thread nicely....
"Your version" of the thread ?, LOL your just censoring posts until you get the desired results .

.......
You could just decline and get your money back OR wait until the part gets replaced.

To be fair JR has shown clearly , very clearly, very very clearly that he doesn't offer refunds.

Just the opposite, he goes to great lengths to keep things hush hush and pulls the rug out from under his customers.
Store credits, gift cards, prepaid memberships, all become useless, and his poor employees got screwed to from what I read on another website.

Thankfully our armed forces produces a better product most of the time.

Now JR can funnel all the money he's refusing to refund people for memberships, store credits/ect into this R18 project.

So rip off your client base and declare bankruptcy, then take the capital you already extracted out of your business and put that into obtaining another product to sell to the same client base you previously ripped off!

JR Cox is morally bankrupt and his lapdogs on here are not much better, just look how Bartok attacks just about everyone who disagrees with anything he claims.

I'd love to see this firearm work out and come to Canada but god damn why must it be tainted by having such toxic people involved with it!

I am interested to hear about this as well. Are those people getting refunded or just referred to the fine print?

Guess you never made a spelling mistake, or wrote poor grammar? I know with my new phone the sensitivity is different, so it catches letters that I did not mean, but I type faster than I think. So I make mistakes due to fat thumbs. I don't notice them till I hit post and be like oh.

No, SAI has nothing to do with TSE in terms of business relationships. Plans are in place to establish a small SAI retail space in Calgary for local sales of the R18 Mk3 in the absence of TSE. SAI facilities in Calgary for small-batch machining, QC, assembly and proof/test firing are already established thanks to the R18 Mk2. There should be no perceptible change to the timeline for sales of production rifles, which is dependant upon pre-production live fire testing results and supply chain eficiency (eg. potential Port of Vancouver strike). Still on track for late Nov/Dec, although things could slip to the right dependant upon testing, component availability. and component QC checks. There are a multitude of variables which could delay the launch of the Mk3, as SAI is determined that testing will not occur on the backs of customers.
You are definitely on the payroll.

Closing a retail outlet just before the launch of this rifle seems less than optimum, not the first report of "external" troubles from manufacturers in the sector recently either. We might be getting leaned on here boys, don't get distracted from removing the people that make rifles like this a necessity.

oh man c'mon guys, can't we let go of grudges for once? i get it, people got burned in the past, but as a community we're already small as it is, shouldn't we be supporting each other as whole? TSE shutting down is a sad story for anyone in the firearms community. as new as I am, it's sad seeing the state of things go.

Why can't we take things step by step, piece by piece? and not do blanket judgements especially ones rooted in grudges.

SAI is owned by the same owner as TSE sure. And some people have a problem with that person sure. You're all valid enough to feel that way. But SAI as a company is more than just it's owner or ties to it.

If that was the case we should all stop driving german cars especially VW.
We should all stop getting mitsubishi products etc. etc.

Even then a product can be more that the reputation of the brand it's from. What now things exist in a static vaccum and can't ever change?
If that's the case then throw everything that you own from brands that don't have impeccable history. Oh wait you'll have nothing.

You know what this reminds me of? The degenerate cancel culture that has pervaded our society today. Let's not be like that please.

This is about a rifle, a product. Let's wait and see, and judge it by it's own merits. Create your own threads if it isn't related to this one, which is supposedly the Part 1, initial impression of the SAI R18 Mk3.

People like getting mad about things. Gives them weird purpose to life.

Spot on with the cancel culture.

There’s accountability - of which Bartok has noted of where he stands on things, and is incredibly transparent with his dealings with the rifle / designers.

Sure there is speculation, but until the rifle is shot, tested, and given its run, we’re looking at face value info.

I’m sure if the rifle was mediocre upon first handling, it would be noted. I’m equally sure if the rifle tests poorly, we will read about it as well.

lol this is great, I wonder if someone else did similar preview of the rifle what would the respond be like. However, the timing wasn't great but at least we got to see close up pictures and his opinions.

Whatever, if the rifle is successful and some weird magic AKADS version comes out their version, then i'll be kinda of choke. More rifle in Canada is a good thing either way.
