Well seeing as I worked there up until the bitter end and that was last Monday.. this is what we were told " don't worry guys the new owners said they are keeping the front of house staff" he said that so many times to us cause we constantly asked if we should look for new jobs. And then in our last meeting which was last Monday he said he lied to us cause he didn't want the bank taking money so we wouldn't get severance. Which is bull#### not to mention he didn't tell any of the members so he wouldn't have to refund them. JR lies and lies and lies to the point of you can't believe anything he says. And if you don't believe me well we all recorded the last speech he gave us admitting he lied and was fuc$ing over members.
If you got your final paycheque and severance, you did better than many employees do in a bankruptcy proceeding. Not defending JR Cox's lies to the staff, of which I was not aware. I would imagine that he had to maintain a semblance of normalcy right up to the end in order to keep the cash-flow open for those cheques and severance. That does not excuse his lies, but it may (partiially?) explain them.
JR Cox s a polarizing figure within the firearms community, I will certainly grant you that. However, you are the first employee of his to express dissatisfaction with his leadership that I am personally aware of. All of the written staff comments that I have seen were positive, however those accounts came before the bankruptcy and closure - an event virtually guaranteed to cause great heartache all-around.
Sorry to hear that you had a negative experience with JR Cox at the end of TSE. He should not have strung you along, but instead taken the staff into his confidence on the understanding that paycheques were on the line. In any case, I wish you the best of good fortune in finding alternative employment.
Thankfully, where the R18 Mk3 is concerned, SAI is a completely separate company from TSE, headquartered in England. In that regard, the R18 is still fully financed and proceeding through testing to production. The extent of JR Cox's involvement in SAI is not clear to me, and is honestly none of my business. Obviously he is heavily involved in the R18 testing and production, so it is probably safe to say that JR currently plays a prominent role in SAI's Canadian operations. I have been assured that the TSE bankruptcy in no way impacts the R18. Everyone will be able to decide for themselves whether or not that is true in the coming months. I really hope that it is true, as I think that the Mk3 really has terrific potential for the tricky Canadian "black rifle" market. We shall all soon find out, I suppose.
My focus remains on the rifle itself and its upcoming live-fire performance. Facts, findings and logical conclusions - there will be no rumour or conjecture. Well over a week ago I arranged for a new, local CGNer to assist me with the live-fire testing. Iceman106 will set up and fetch targets, validate my groups, shoot groups of his own, assist me in diagnosing any malfunctions, and so on and so forth. He is there as a second set of eyes. Anyone on Range 1 at CHAS Genessee when I am there who wishes to try out the pre-production rifle will be welcome to do so. 1000 rounds is a lot of 5 round magazines. to load all by yourself! So those who are predisposed to doubt my findings will have iceman106's truth to contend with as well....
