Sulun SS-211, this is not your daddy's shotgun Cowboy!

So, I hit the range...

Initial impressions are: I like the thing & didn't blow off any fingers! I can't believe Slow Joe was right, GET A SHOTGUN!

I fired about 2 dozen rounds of 2&3/4" light target loads, regular birdshot & buckshot. Fired cartridges with brass rims drop free when you invert the shotgun barrels, aluminum ones not so much... I noticed that it leave a very healthy dent in the primers, can you say positive ignition? I also installed the mod tubes in both barrels & the patterns were reasonable forest chicken at 10 yards sort of thing... The cylinder tubes probably would have covered a barn door at point blank, but hey whatever floats your boat!

At 4.5lbs, that was enough silly boomstick for me to prove it's workable, I didn't mash my thumb into my nose (notice I tried keeping my thumb on the right side lol), the safety did not auto engage upon firing and holy cow I can actually hit something within reasonable cauterization ranges. Most impressive was the BLAST! OH MY SWEET JEBUS THIS THING IS LOUD!

So, there you have it gentlemen, I'm happy & may never shoot the thing ever again BUT I'M GLAD I HAVE ONE! LOL

Cheers
Jay

Hahahahahha very cool

That is the 9" barrel or 12"?

I hit the range again & fired about 15 more rounds out of it... All target load #8... I'm guessing my round count is approaching ~100 of buck, slug, bird...

This thing is loud, obnoxious and FUN!

Anyone shoot any game with theirs yet? Pic?

Cheers

you are having way too much fun with that gun. seriously i am glad for you.a word of warning to those of you who are one handing and firing these double barrelled shotguns. i made the mistake of firing a pistol grip double barrel shotgun and the gun doubled on me. my arm and shoulder took a long time to be of use to me . i ran some figures on recoil and instead of twenty five pounds of recoil it is over one hundred. please keep the gun shouldered , and have fun. i would like to point out that the gun i fired was not one of these just so you know i am not slagging this model.

Well crap, my Sulun is at Gunco...

At the last range trip, my Sulun twice failed to fire the top barrel when I was using buckshot. The mechanical trigger was 'dead' & this only happened with buckshot, not lighter birdshot...

I flipped the switch so it would fire the top barrel first & it had no issues firing it & then the bottom barrel.

So I'm hoping it is something simple with the mechanical trigger, this shotgun is WAY TOO MUCH FUN not to fix!

If I had to guess a round count, I'd say I'm under 200 but I don't keep track & I let everyone shoot it LOL.

I'll keep you guys in the loop.

Cheers

Third time's the charm, dammit. It's a darn good joke if you ask me.

Now all you need is a red neckerchief for your dog.

... And in this space I tried to post a couple of photos from the Road Warrior movie but they won't embed or something.

^Awesome movie & pic BigBad! LOL

And I have the shotgun back, Gunco installed a stronger spring on the safety & thinks the problem was it re-engaging when I was firing buckshot.

So... Next range trip will tell the tale, fingers crossed! :ar15:

My buddy loves his. One day im going to borrow it for a round or 2 of skeet. He took it north with me on a bear hunt. It proved useful for a defensive roll checking baits and doubled as a lazy mans axe around camp cutting or splitting firewood. We did manage to take some grouse with it. He ran challenger and score buckshot and slugs thru it which arent known for consistency but inside 15 yards everything pointed at ended up gaining holes. Grouse were shot using minishells.
Id buy one myself if the stock was true full length. I get the point of why theyre shorter

Stronger safety spring would be a good suggestion for T.I. to pass along to the manufacturer.

Bought one when they first came out. Buddy and I took it to the range and had a blast (literally). The fire balls this thing can produce is unbelievable. We shot everything and let me tell you, you better have a good grip on that thing. We both left with sore shoulders, but, with huge smiles on our faces. Don't know if I'll take it out a lot, but, like others have said, sure glad I got one....
