Swiss Arms Sniper (some pics and first impressions)

It's the factory version, not a conversion.

I was told that the Sig 550 sniper was discontinued for a variety of reasons. Is this the Swiss Arms version or a classic green dressed up to look like a 550 sniper?

Hence the price tag of $10,000.

Beautiful rifle by the way... I'd love to get to try out one of the factory snipers.

Interesting read... Although I'm sure with some more extensive load development combined with tuning the loads to the rifle, much more impressive groupings could be achieved. I guess I should have written "With tuned handloads" instead of "With the proper ammo" in my post. With my Classic Green using my tuned handloads, I have shot .6MOA 5 shot groups at 200 yards (the largest 5 shot groups were still sub MOA, 10 shot groups were slightly above MOA), and I'm sure the sniper variant you have could beat that.

Swapped the Nightforce for a S&B PMII 5-25x56. Also swapped out the Harris bipod for an Atlas bipod (I am really impressed with this bipod).

I've been trying to find the factory mirage shield for this gun. Anyone out there have a line on one?

You're absolutely right, I can't. Neither can you. Just because you can, doesn't mean you should. I'm not hear to tell the man how to spend his money. He can do that fine all on his own.

He obviously sees the value in it or he wouldn't have bought it. He say's it's market value. I'm quite positive that at that price level, overall demand and supply is equally low. So, in essence, he's dictating the market value himself.

How many of these would be sold in a given year in Canada? One, perhaps two? It's a buyer's market in my opinion. Even if there wasn't one commercially available here in Canada, he could locate one by other means.
