then how is marstar claiming that these rifles are mechanically operational? that is the reason they are denying refunds on shipping.
I don't know. But it seems the ironclad guarantee has limitations that we should all remember in future.

I think everyone should really take a step back from the keyboard and think through some of the comments they are making.
I too would like to hear from the retailer on this/these issues, but can't blame anyone not wanting to wade through the vitriol and potential hyperbole. It would be grand (Garand?) if we stayed on <this particular> topic, and maybe kept posters to those that bought the rifles and those with SME knowledge on the subject of Garands in general.
Some purchasers are out a fair amount of money, and if not money considering a return and refund, considerable time.
Rifling through post after post of 'glad I passed on these', 'I knew it was too good to be true' and 'let's have Johnone's head on a platter' is really quite counter productive.
Oh, and IBTL![]()

You fail to understand that the trust with the firearms community is what has been broken here.
I'm holding a Korean M1 Garand as we speak.
I don't think it has all USGI parts, but I could be very wrong.
My #### just fell off, what should I do?
Have you bothered to read the Marstar warranty, "not happy" return for a full refund ??
I hate to rain on your parade but the sales derived from CGN members would barely pay the wages for a couple of employees....
Not to say we do not appreciate the support of CGN members, but there is a whole othe world outside this forum

"We may have to pay for shipping to return the rifle to you, that means we're out of pocket anywhere from $20-50."
Why does this keep popping up, our warranty is clear, if not satisfied or the item is not what you expected, not as described, whatever, we pay the shipping, so what is the issue exactly ?? We are well known to have the best warranty policy in Canada, so what are the issues ??
CGN originally. My Garand is not as bad as others have indicated. No "free float" barrel, no grinding on the front of the bolt, unfortunately the right lug is welded and ground. I would like to keep it and shoot it confidently, I would also like a explanation from the seller.
I think that ONE welded and ground lug is potentially more alarming that both lugs being refitted.
One lug welded was probably to try and square up the bolt with the chamber of the barrel. One member described how visibly off center the bore and chamber were in his rifle, the one with a 40thou gap between barrel and receiver and the gauge stuck in there.
It's likely the unknown make of barrels that are the main issue, Italian M1 parts are all high quality and built to the latest drawing specs. It's unfortunate the way they went about "fixing" these....or ruining these I guess would be more accurate.
I watched the Marstar shooting vid again, that M1 ejects like an SKS... I've never seen one eject that violently....
Again, the 5 bona-fide Italian Tipo 2 barrels that I've installed were all of excellent quality with no issues about proper fit, headspace or accuracy. It would be highly unusual for a Beretta or Breda receiver to be off spec. I've owned a few dozen of them, and have used them as the basis for many builds. They were built to a very high quality line.
