According to Nightforce, their scopes issued to US troops are made to mil spec standards and are apparently held to a higher standard than optics offered to the general public. There was recently a thread on Snipershide regarding this same thing.
It is not for us to comment on their contracts, but I do known that they have been on a mission to meet latest milspecs regardless of cost. Not aware of anyone else meeting these standards including guess who?
Sounds to me like they really need that contract. They need an entry level line, every other optics manufacturer has recognized this, otherwise they won't be around much longer.
A company that takes the time to fine tune a product and make sure that it will meet the demand of all its potential customers instead of rushing to market like so many others have, is not a sign of a desperate company.
As to entry level,($800-1500) it wouldn't make any sense to try to do so for many reasons, including the fact that this is already a competitive market very well served with too many options as it is.
currently there are various scope manufacturers products used by different countries armys and special forces around the world. To say none of these scopes meet the criteria put forward by the military that is currently using them does not make sense.Sounds to me like they really need that contract. They need an entry level line, every other optics manufacturer has recognized this, otherwise they won't be around much longer.
Unless of course this company is a sideline to a much larger corporation that needs tax write offs.
i first started watching for there scopes about a year and a half ago, if i ever have chance to buy this Canadian made optic, you bet your a$$ that its going on a rifle thats worthy of it...cough cough Timberwolf cough....
