Probably a stupid question, probably answered too many times but my stupid brain cant seem to find :

Is the canadian Tar 21(not the x95) chambered in 556 or 223 ? Websites have all different answers.

Edit : searched more and found answer. Barrel is marked 223 for export but will take 5.56 no problem.

Thanks for that man! I still have trouble uploading pics on here as you can see lol. She shoots like a dream, I'm very happy with it

No worries, my friend Mike from Canmore has an X95 which I shoot really often and I love it.

Not the most accurate gun in the world in my opinion, but balances / handles really well and built like a tank.

Mike sure has a LOT of rounds through his and zero issues.

From what I understand the Gen 1 benefits more from the aftermarket trigger than the X95 does. In fact I know some folks are buying the trigger pack from the X95 to use in the Gen 1, nice upgrade and cheaper than a Geisselle or similar.

1. Remove barrel sphincter (affects barrel harmonics positively)
2. Dual ejector springs (ships with latest GEN X95).

Ive found from my own less-than-scientific testing that removing the barrel ring does not improve accuracy UNLESS you're hanging heavy accessories off the handguard, light a light. In that case, it's more accurate to say removing the ring preserves accuracy.

The dual ejectors I think are a bit annoying because they fling casings out with enough force that they bypass the shell deflector entirely, and ding you squarely in the chin when doing shoulder transitons.

What I think does help is the IDF charging handle which locks into place very positively.

I've read that these two modifications may improve accuracy. Hornady TAP 55gr reports 1.179"groups. HPR Ammunition 60gr V-Max reports 0.817" groups. Federal American Eagle 55gr FMJ reports 1.25" groups. Just some data I am passing along re: IMI X95.

So can they be fitted to my X95 (I'm assuming it doesn't have dual ejectors as its 2-3 years old now)?

I have the TAR21 version and noticed it won’t reliably cycle anything under 3200fps is this common or is the gas system starting to get plugged or some other issue I’m not aware of? I would estimate the rifle has seen around 5000 rounds or so.
