Tavor vs AR, Apples to Apples Comparison Part 1 (50 yards)

And like I said, can anyone take this guy seriously? If he has nothing to contribute but hate, and you can't have a rational conversation with him, he is either very ignorant, or good at trolling.

I think it is the latter as he trolled the last Tavor thread heavily as well untill mods came in and tanned his hide.

:feedTroll:

thats because so many of you think tavors are the next great thing, wich its absolutely not. Maybe with a bull barrel and alot of work. Its taken ar15s 45 years to get where they are now, thats di ar15s but tavor guys are omg i cant c the difference and stack the deck. Call me a troll or whatever i shoot twice a week in van and anyone wants to call me out i welcome the challenge. Ill bring my cheap bushmaster you bring your 3000 dollar tavor, and you can call me a troll then. If it was what people here say they are i would own one. Btw isnt the tar 21 with eotech the main cod battle rifle campers play with lol.

Good thread start , to bad it's taking some wrong turns.
The barrel length of the ether rifle shouldn't make any difference accuracy wise at 100yds or even more , unless you're using iron sights then a rifle length AR with irons would shine.

Forgive me but barrel length doesnt matter at 100 , um ok umm wrong. Take a 20 inch barrel vs a sbr at 100 and i bet theres over an inch difference.

Your in van bring out a tavor and ill bring my ar lets compare and take pics maybe then you can trash talk me a little, im available any day, balls in your court.

sure!
so to summarize so we have our facts right, you said a tavor fails after 300 rounds, i said bs to that.

Im not comparing to you AR, you specifically said a tavor fails after 300 rounds and has a 5 inch group on ae 223 at 100 yards, I disagreed and said BS, I never mentioned an AR. So you threw the challenge so you pay the ammo, give me 300 rounds of ae 223 55 grain, hell give me 500 rounds, ill bang away at burke with my tavor and 30 mag, 50 mag changes you can film me and put me on youtube. if it doesn't jam then i win right?

Ill be at poco burke on friday the 25th, thats a week away, im there lined up early in the morning before it opens up, I stay there till about 10:30 11:00am max, if you show up after 11 I'm already gone, I'm the tall white guy with a beard that has the tavor + elcan. Going there anyways so might as well jack hammer my tavor again like a boss.

if you cant find me, go see colin and ask him where Michael the bearded dude with the Tavor is?

Ill take a picture of myself there with a newspaper of the day in case...

WAT? Arya stark is a canadian gun nut?

I love mini 14s, they are well priced reliable and made by ruger.

If your rifle has trouble going through 500 rounds in a day, I have bad news for you. I expect a rifle designed to down hajis should be able to handle 500 no problem. We are talking about a tavor after all and not a t97

Cool thread. But I don't get why people place so much importance on the accuracy of a fighting rifle. Personally, I could care less what MOA my Tavor is. All I know is I can constantly make a head shot at 100 yard and a center mass shot at 300. That's good enough for me. If I want a gun that prints MOA I'll get a bolt action.
With rifles of this type I'd be more concerned with
1. Reliability
2. Durability
3. Ease of mataince and how often its needed
4. Will it run dirty.

I'd like to see the two platforms tested on that basis.

As for whether the Tavor is a jam-o-matic, sounds like complete nonsense. The Tavor is know for its realibty. Like everyone else here, I haven't had a failure of any type in a little over 2000 rounds, and 1000 of that was AE 55gr. Somehow I think hek76 is full of it. I don't know what's harder to believe, whether that Tavor dose jam, or if hek76 actually has a "friend".

@ hek76,
My dad could beat up your dad, and he says the Tavor is better.

Oh don't worry, this was just part 1. I plan on testing and abusing the crap out of both of these in any way I can think of. I'll also report any failures or stoppages of any kind, and won't clean either one till one of them says uncle.

In afghanistan the USA military where having to stretch out to 400 and 500 yards vs the 7.62 round. A few guys there ran good optics on m14s with excellent success at 600 yards. So a battle riffle in 5.56 needs to reach out and touch someone at 400 to 500 yards, the tavor cannot do this.

Youtube tavor fails to feed and jams your own albertan tv press starts yelling at how his tavor has become a bolt rifle lmfao

I personally dislike the tavor. Or most bullpups for that matter. But the tavor is quite a reliable rifle in general.
