thanks moving target for the best russian SKS i have ever seen .

When moving target called me, I hesitated, but went for it anyway. I am GLAD I did. Received a Tula 1955/56 all matching with gold bayonet today. By far the best one that I have picked up so far. Will post pics of the collection soon.

so how is it that a small shop in a small town seems to have gotten the best of the bunch?

Spoke with Ed several weeks ago while placing my order for an unissued and he assures me I will be getting what I am looking for because he spend an entire day hand picked his 80+ sks from his supplier prior to have them pinning the mag.

I have yet seen mine (supposedly its on its way) but so far by looking at pics posted by others who got from Ed seems promising, should know within the next few days!:D

I happened upon this forum during my search for an SKS. I've found a store with refurbished ones, but it sounds like there's still a stock of unissued's left. How would I go about getting one from Moving Target?

I just called them and placed the order. They said it was unissued, but not pristine. I hope that means nothing more than just a few scratches on the stock. Also, are these ones covered in cosmoline?

edit: And what about barrel chroming?

Congrats!

Don't worry Ed's standard is beyond most others I think your "not pristine" is still much better than others "mint condition":D

Let us know when you receive it!

I was chatting with my favorite bartender last week and I told him about the beautiful SKS I received from Moving Target.
He wanted one so I gave him Ed’s phone number and he ordered one.

Well, I stopped by the pub for a pint yesterday after work and he told me he received his rifle.
He said it was mint, not a mark on it, all matching serial numbers, but he wanted to know what the diamond with an arrow in it meant.

You mean a diamond or a triangle, oh I guess its a triangle he says.
I almost had a heart attack.
Triangle with an arrow!!!!!
That’s what I asked Ed for weeks ago, but he said he didn’t have any when he phoned me.
I told my friend he was a very fortunate fellow and to take a couple photos of his rifle and email them to me today.

I just received his very fuzzy photos, the silly new Canadian immigrant :D, that’s not a triangle, it’s called a star.

Alls right with the world again.

Ha! He rooked you!

He is probably very knowledgeable about SKS's (and how rare the unissued Izzy's are) and was just messing with your head.:D

Have only fired the bottom one. Years from top to bottom are 1953, 1954, 1954, unknown and 1954. All Tula's.
