Yah. Bought a 340A from a pawn shop for $100 about 15 years ago. The previous owner glued a cheek piece on and made a mess of it. I just restored it this winter and bought some dies for it. I have invested very little into it so I hate to get rid of it for a couple hundred bucks. Instead I think I'll keep it as a plinker.
Sold my '94 years ago, and if I can ever find another one, at a decent price, I'll buy one again.
I guess that makes looking on E.E. out of the question!
I have a Winchester Model 94 that was given to me by my father-in-law. It's chambered in 30-30 and is one of the guns in my "I'm never going to sell it" safe. It's the only gun that I have that was handed down from a family (or in this case, extended family) member. It was also the second gun that I ever owned, the first was a Model 60 Cooey that was given to me by a friends father, which originally belonged to his grandfather.
yep, sold my last '94 a few years back.
I still have an 1899A in 30-30 so I'm still a member in good standing.
If I buy another 30-30 it will be a Marlin...

Your last sentence makes no sense, whatsoever.
I presume it means you think that things are so high priced on the EE, that you won't get a 30-30 there.
In reality a lot of 30-30 rifles come on the EE for sale, and a lever action 30-30, especially a Winchester or Marlin, are probably the fastest selling guns on the EE.
Are you looking for a 30-30 at market value, or are you trying to get one for half of what they are worth?
Some great-looking guns here. I've had a couple of 94's and a couple of Marlins...but nowadays I can't imagine any thing I would do with a .30-30 that I wouldn't prefer to use a .45-70.
Had my great grandfathers 94 weaselled away from me when my old man died. Nothing like death to bring out greed.Probably the most fun toy I've ever owned. Miss that thing.
Surely you jest.
I can count at least four off the top of my head I have purchased off the EE since joining.
They are here, but not for nickels and dimes.
A bit OT but kind of interesting with recent developments, is that several bullet makers have newer (premium?) 30-30 bullet designs out.
Woodleigh has a 150 grain in the famous Weldcore, Swift has a 150 and a 170 grain also. So the lonely Nosler Partition 170 RN now has some comapny.
I have not seen the PMC Starfire for sale in the last decade, here in Canada.
Marlin 336, first rifle I ever owned, given to me by my dad. It wore a 4X bushnell when I got it, took that off though.
Its one of those guns that will never be sold.
i have a model 94 made in 1982.
it's the first rifle i bought. i was 15 and and worked all summer to
buy it. i'm now 41 and still have it. it has a william peep on it.
and i've shot a few 3 shot groups in the .5-.7 and a couple 5 shots in 1.1" and 1.4"since i tried 170 gr federal blue box for the first time last year. ( i've always shot 150 remingtons before, it was shooting around 2" and thought it was pretty good)
