Recent upgrades

The addition of the PRS2 on my Dot Matrix chassis allows me to use the iron sights comfortably

I had my older Fisher/SEI DC suppressor retrofitted with SEI's new Wind Talker coupler, baffles and end cap

Does this gun have an adjustable gas plug?
Seems like with one, a quick adjustment and the subsonic ammo should cycle just fine.

Beautiful rifle BTW. Much like the one I want to build.

Thank you, it was the very first M14 that SEI built for me.
All that remains of that MK14 rifle is the 'Dot Matrix' SAGE EBR chassis.

No, I have not tried an adjustable gas plug. The idea of an M14/M1A cycling sub-sonic
is appealing (I've seen the video), but the idea of dialing it in & out every time is not.
Besides, my 7.62x39 AKM cycles sub-sonic just fine without any adjustment... :D

Cool. Is that a magpul buttstock? Was it the slight give in the stock Sage stock that made you switch it?

I like the stock look better, but I can see why precision shooters might not like the movement of the Sage butt stock.

I really like the original retractable butt stock, it was solid, but I could not get my face low enough to use the iron sights.

The addition of the SAGE PRS2 on my old Dot Matrix chassis allows me to use the iron sights comfortably.

Hey what kinda top and bottom rails are those.

Sorry for the slow reply, hadn't checked back here in a while.

Top is a UTG Tri-Rail. It's ok for the price (got it for around $50 I think?) but nothing spectacular. Lower is an $8 UTG M16/AR15 Hand Guard Picatinny Rail. It's angled enough that it fits almost square to the top rail when I installed it. Drilled a couple holes in the bottom of the stock and voila. Never got around to mounting a fore grip to it though.

M14A1

And by the way the selector switch is fully functional!

BEAUTY!!! And you are VERY VERY lucky indeed to have a beauty like that in select fire!

I have a dummy selector switch installed to fill the hole in my USGI stock, looks good, but that is all.

Cheers
Jay

Great to see gus shooting irons, amazing sights on the M14. Your rifle and irons is capable of a group about the size of a grapefruit at 200, keep practicing, irons are the bread and butter of markmanship and the mark of a fellow who can really shoot.

Here's the LRB M25 I built in final form, installed and headspaced a Krieger heavy SS, TRW moving parts, just finished a stock refinish. Will shoot it at 500 yards again shortly, goal is to get 5 out of 10 rounds on a standard piece of paper with irons. I got 2 on last time, and two in the TAPE holding the target up, so doable.
