The GSG 16 modification thread

I just purchased this stock on eBay. How is the fit? Nice and snug?
I’m guessing the screws that are in the factory stock will fit back into the full length airsoft stock I just bought, or should I be purchasing a set of HK push pins?
Can you confirm that?

Like I said. Mine required some minor fitting. Because I didn't want to wedge it on, and try to pry it off. But it fits nice and snug now. I was able to use the same chicago screws as the factory. Same tightness as stock. I cannot comment on the push pins, but I ordered a set to try. But yours might not.

But another member said.

I have the same CYMA stock, and mine slipped on... it was tighter than stock but a few firms HK slaps on the buttstock and it was on. After about 10 removals of the butt stock it has since loosened up and goes off and on with zero issues and is nice and tight

I would recommend greasing/oiling it up, so it slips off easier. During your fitting.

Just wondering which pins you guys have used? The hk ones from wolverine?
Did i read somewhere about using the cyma pins as well?

I bought two of Wolverine's HK push pins. In the OEM stock, it's a perfect fit. In the front of the lower receiver, it's maybe 1-2 mm to long but it's still awesome. Tiny bit long is no problem at all. I did pick up an aftermarket airsoft stock, and for that, the pin is about 1-2 mm to short. It is a tight friction fit and I'm not worried about it falling out at all. Overall, the HK pins are great. (Sad that you can get a set of 5 pins in the US for about $7. Two of these will cost about $40 from Wolverine.)

Thats why you buy the airsoft HK pins, all 3 lengths shipped to me for 7$USD

All the link i have posted from Hong Kong carry them.

Guys I got an odd question does the stock from the gsg stg44 fit on the gsg 16 it looks similar but I don't own one yet. Thanks in advance

Tried this yesterday, it does not work. Totally different shape where the stock slides on to the GSG16. Also the push pin from the StG44/22 will not fit, it's larger in diameter than the GSG16 pin.

Yup, I looked at Hero Outdoors, all 3 pins were 9.99 but after taxes and shipping, it was about 40$. I found them on Ebay for 12$..

I had not messed around with eBay for years until I started trying to polish a gsg16 into an MP5 clone. At this point, I'd do some savage things for a 9" barrel right about now.

Has anybody considered one of these handguards? I'm hoping someone here that is more knowledgeable then I can explain why it wouldn't work? Please give me a reason to avoid learning what Brownell's return policy is like ;)

FYI, Brownells' return policy is amazing. ;)

Here's my take on a MP5SD2 style GSG-16. It's not anywhere near accurate but it's good enough for me. The CYMA stock needed about 10 minutes of fitting with a hand file. Would have gone quicker if I had cared to dig out my dremel. It came with it's own HK style push pin which is good as the pins from Wolverine were a bit too short for the aftermarket stock.

Damn, thats ###y.
My CYMA solid stock is coming form Hong Kong as we speak.

I saw an HK all metal rear sight made for Airsoft on Ebay yesterday for around 30 dollars. Has anyone put one of these on their gun yet?

I'm just about confident enough to remove one from one of the 2 metal airsoft guns I've been cannibalizing for the GSG 16. Just got to build the confidence to start hard core butchering the GSG 16 receiver to fit it.

Cheers
Moe
