Has everyone pretty much used the 522 conversion kits for their cocking tube assembly? Went through all 160 pages, but didn’t seem to find anyone that altered an ICS cocking tube assembly for use on the GSG-16.
The ICS cocking tube is tapered internally so the GSG16 charging tube won't fit without modification. I'm currently sourcing a l9ng enough drill bit to see if they can be modified without losing too much material![]()

Dont do the drill bit route!!!
The ICS outer tapers narrower to the front sight. A drill bit will punch through (trust me lol)
The best you can do is take a smaller drill bit and wrap sand paper around it using it to expand the hole by sanding. The GSG522 tube is physically bigger than the ICS for strength.
There is more issues with the ICS as well (barrel may not align with the lower tube as well).

nice so did you drilled or sanded the tube internal ?
does the sights line up?
Anyone ever take the faux suppressor off and try and see if some AR-15 handguards could be made to fit? Would that look ok you think?

This is by far, my favorite config of the GSG 16 I've done. And I've dumped alot into GSG16s.
I'll post up some updated photos of the rifle this weekend without that shadow so everyone can better look at it. Conversion is available, aluminum cocking tube, steel bipod, polymer grip...
