The M1 Garand Build Thread

I scored a nice beretta trigger group with a mash of BMB Winchester and Springfield parts. Also got a nos clip latch and a nos re modified terni walnut stock in the wrapper. Numrich did well on this order. Anybody else try out the Terni stocks?

They appear to be breeding? When then population density justifies a less than $1000 price tag, please give me a shout.

If I sold my rifles, I would no longer be rich.

Sometimes late at night, I sit in my gunroom together with my bulldog. We sip some Pellegrino water together and I admire all of my beautiful rifles and pistols. Life does not get any better than that

Good answer. But, I still would pay lots for one of your beauties!

You wont be dissapointed with Nick at Vulcan. I plan on going back there to re-store a M1 Carbine. Awesome guy, get what you pay for handS down. Love the work he did, would without a doubt recommend going there!!

Excuse the crappy cell pic but my garand is starting to look recognizable. Even makes clips go ping! I'm sitting minus a barrel, a rear sight aperture, op rod spring and op rod latch assy. Still trying to find those parts (except bbl) if anybody has spares;) I got a really nice wartime SA oprod from numrich with the modified relief cuts BTW.

Nice piece of wood at a reasonable price., as long as you don't mind the grafted on piece .

Grizz

The Modified Terni stocks fit up better than a Boyds stock. They are either new US GI or Italian made military stocks which were arsenal shortened by .5 inch for the Italian Tipo 2 7.62 Garands and were then restored to their original length by having a .5 inch extension glued and pinned on.

The ones numrich has are NOS Italian walnut with the grafted piece on the nose stained to match. The fit is PERFECT on the action and TG. the wrapper the rifle is laying on in the photo is the wrapper from the arsenal dated 1972. I may try out the used Korean stocks for my Springfield build.

How do people feel about the NEW run of citadel barrels? The old ones were junk, but a friend has a new one on his gun and says it shoots beautifully. Any idea what a new manufacture one is worth, and if it's worth doing a build with one?

Again, I'm talking about the NEW barrels - I know the old ones were bad but the internet seems to say the new runs are quite good.
