If, hypothetically having the barrels along causes a border issue, or PSA just doesn't want to make barrels to our NR length or attempt fitting a 20" barrel to a Jakl, isn't having the barrels locally sourced better then having no Jakl at all?
Yeah the people who were freaking out when i suggested 20 inch barrels or classic lines instead of mall ninja #### make me lol.
20 inch barrels = what the round was designed for, and, more importantly, ARE ACTUALLY MADE BY PSA INSTEAD OF JUST BEING CANADIAN. Why convert stuff?? Just use factory bits!
How about I don't have to machine off an inch later and they just make 18.6 instead of trying to appease fudds who just like to be contrarians.
It will cost extra either way because AR barrels are not plug-and-play into the rifle, PSA would have to make 20" versions and press barrels into the extension which costs more for them and requires more work only for the Canadian market, 20" barrelled ARs do not have a large market in the US so there's no incentive to make large quantities.

What’s wrong with you guys.. 20” barrel
Why? To get a couple fps you aren’t doing anything with to shoot at paper? And 5.56 WAS designed around 20”

Not anymore. Nobody uses 20” barrels because they would rather have a firearms and not a lance
You guys wearing chainmail cosplay and using these on horseback with bayonets or something?
"Also I want to point it out, once the lower is in, it also provides ample opportunities for other manufacturers create uppers for it."
have you seen the ads for those 'crusader' things? lolThis guy knows

There won't be 20" from PSA let me tell you the obvious reason. They template their barrels off AR barrel profiles - they mass produced couple of barrel profiles and fit into as many platforms as possible.
there maybe a 20" AR barrel somewhere in PSA catalogue, but there isn't a JAKL gas system and push rod that fit into the 20" AR barrel gas system profile
There isn't a 20" AR barrel using 14.5/16" gas system. They aren't going to spend resources on that sort of thing.
hence this is pawed off to a second manufacturer in Canada. Once they are in they are in the country. The fact that if they make a bunch of these weird 20" bbl using 16 gas system, if bad things happen no one will buy them in the US it is a 100% loss.
As much as I'd much rather have a factory complete NR Jakl/180 from PSA (and would be plenty happy with a 20" barrel if that made it happen) what Greentips is saying makes sense. PSA aren't gonna drill a bunch of 20" barrels for the 16" gas system nor will they develop (at least not at this point) a push rod/gas system for a rifle length 20" (maybe they will in the future and we can just buy new uppers). So the big question is where will the final price end up? As long as it's reasonable (<$2500), I'll buy one, probably buy a 13.7 upper for the range too. If it's getting pretty close to the cost of a NR Bren though it makes a lot less sense...
If irunguns can buy the uppers without a barrel installed they I can’t see why under $2000 CAD isn’t possible. The full rifle goes for $1300usd with the barrel (to consumer). Meaning that if they can get the uppers without barrel they should save at least $200- USD.
I hope you're correct as I'd like a NR semi with AR ergos that is reliable, well engineered, accurate and doesn't suffer from all the weird issues the Canadian 180s seem to have.

No i'm using it to shoot 400-600 and GWOT cosplay, SBRS are so 10 years ago.
Rifle length with carbine op system. 3rd party tampering. I'm losing interest fast
