The new Tikka T1X Rimfire

Is that an fx scope with a 40 mm objective if so let me know what you come up with as I’m using the same scope on my Tikka
I pre purchased some Warne high rings so I think I’ll have tones of room

It is yes 12x40. Im going to put on a picatinny rail then measure for ring height.

Just got this from tikka
Our factory is working with full speed onT1x manufacturing and we try to deliver the open orders as soon as possible. Unfortunately I'm not able to give any exact date when the deliveries will reach your country. We are trying our best to keep the distributors up to date of the situation so I believe they can give you the closest estimation on the availability of the T1x. Thank you for the patience!
With best regards,
Eeva/Sako Ltd

If anybody orders a rail from overseas can yOu order me one and I’ll emt you the money? I dnot have a credit card tis why I’m asking this.

I see Australia has an aluminum bolt shroud and other titanium parts for the T1x. Wonder if dip will make an aluminum bolt shroud? I want to remove the plastic one soon as possible

Most (all?) European .22LR rifles are made with dovetails only, which with good rings are more than solid enough for the recoil. If my curiosity can be indulged, why the insistence on a rail?

Never liked the scrawny dovetail design. Always been a big fan of pic rails especially steel ones. I’m one of those steel and wood guys who like it solid and over built lol

I’ve always preferred a rail. I have a habit of swapping scopes looking for the unobtainable perfection. It so much easier to swap quick release rings , no torquing, no fiddling, one scope many rifles

The "scrawny dovetails" on my Tikka T3 Superlite in .300WinMag provided sufficient purchase for an aftermarket set of alloy rings to hold a 12-ounce scope in rock-solid alignment for over 200 rounds. Having said that, I did indeed switch to Talley one-piece base/rings which screwed to the receiver. :) Strictly a confidence thing; I suspect the Talleys may hold up better if they get banged or thumped while on a hunt.

I don't think there is even a shadow of a suggestion of a hint of concern about the dovetails on a .22lr being up to the task at hand.

Lol I don’t like the dovetail design even for rimfire but yes it’s adequate for a rimfire as far as strength is concerned. If it holds up on a lightweight 300 win mag it will hold up on a rimfire Haha. I just prefer beefier designs within reason. Not exactly chunky but beefier like a standard picatinny rail. Just my preference and I also like the ring options better too that are available for it. Like my Ken farrel steel rings. The dovetail rings just appear weak wth how small a claw they have to grab a very small groove in the receiver.

Does anyone have one in .17. I’m kinda looking for a .17 since I don’t have one. How accurate is it? Thanks.
