The NOT politically correct firearm / deer hunting thread. I'm using a TAVOR!

If we use these "non sporting type" rifles in a "sporting" manner then would that start to change their image? How can some politician claim my FS2000 is not a "sporting type firearm" and have it banned, if I've actually used it in a "sporting type" activity?

Personally, I consider 3-gun matches, tactical rifle matches etc to be a "sporting" use for a rifle, shotgun, or handgun. But I think the politicians only consider hunting to be a "sporting" use for firearms.

So, lets get tons of photos of black, red, and green rifles being used in a "sporting" manner. The more there are the harder they are to take away.

i was all over this thread when i saw the title. but i'm going to use my origional condition 1889 Schmidt-Rubin chambered in 7.5 Swiss. Does that still count?

XCR-L 6.8SPC 95gr TTSX @ 2825fps shot = 166 yards...

Me_with_Bucks_Oct_4_2010.JPG

Ok so I only shot the one on my left and my son shot the other with his 270 Wby...

Am I the only one?

Heading out again this Monday morning for a week or two going to try for a couple more and maybe even a moose if I can get close enough...

:D

Wooohoo the XCR scores!!!

Did you recover the TTSX?

No it hit the chest (missing bone) just in front of the left leg took out the lungs and exited thru one rib just behind the right leg the deer was up hill from me so the exit is higher up then the entrance.

Here is a pic of the deer I'm holding the one I shot you can see a darker area where the bullet exited no this isn't the son that shot the other deer he was taking the pic...

Check this pic out then his rifle is a T/C Contender carbine in 22LR OAL = 26 3/8" and he had to have it when we took the pic so he could be one of the guys...

There was a time not long ago, when showing up in the bush with a rifle of that appearance, would have gotten laughter wherever you went. Folks calling you Rambo etc.
I do hope that is changing. It's not the rifle after all, it's where the bullet goes that makes the difference.

Congratulations.

Me, I'll still be hunting with my '94 Winchester 30-30, and my 88 in 308. Maybe the 92 Winchester 44-40 will get an outing as well. Stuck in the past? Maybe, but it's stuff that works, it's easy on my wallet, and it doesn't need to have 'magnum' attached to it.

If we can connect I will be hunting with an MP & his daughter this next month and yes I will have the XCR-L with both my 223 & 6.8spc uppers with me and he doesn't know it yet but they will be giving it a try...

and yes he has seen the last pic I posted... :D

;)

The XCR ~! your insane thats totally a military firearm with full automatic function thats why its called an ASSAULT RIFLE ! , has no business being hunted with .......

:D:D:D:D:p

Cool pictures , i was hoping to get out this year my m14s but dont think im going to afford the time away from work this year.

Camp Cook, that pic is EPIC!!! I'm thrilled that guys are using their "non-pc" rifles to hunt with! Pics to follow of my deer hunt, IF I'm successful... (The deer population is not great around Ottawa... & I don't have a doe tag, ugh...)

Cheers
Jay
