They are making a statement. It goes like this: My tacticool guns ARE SO hunting guns so TAKE THAT all you FUDDS!!!!!
Deliberately choosing a rifle that is less accurate with a less effective cartridge just to make some kind of statement seems a touch juvenile to me too but they aren't breaking any laws and I hope it helps them make whatever point they are trying to make.
The point is to show that these guns are just as adept at hunting animals as any other gun. Less accurate as compared to what exactly, some old rusty 30-30 or a full blown hyper accurate 1000yard tack driver?
I would put my m14 up against any rem. 700 when it comes to hunting. 1 moa doesn't add up to a hill of sh!t, and if it did most hunters would have a hard time getting anything.
Not wanting to prove these semis are a legitimate hunting rifle is ignorant and potentially hazardous when the ban pen comes out as witnessed by c-580.
The more folks successfully hunting with these guns the better. Not every fudd is against them and most are more interested in learning about these guns than are actually wanting to see them left at home. Hunting with them is a way towards education IMHO because they provoke a discussion.
I am working my way towards hunting exclusively with black type guns. This includes varmit and pest hunting. I want other people to see these guns in action and talk about them.
