The T97 Thread!

Hmm mine shoot out probably 2 o'clock for the most part

I wouldn't wanna shoot it lefty without a deflector... T97 still hasn't released theirs

With all the talk of T97 accuracy lately when I went shooting I wanted to try out some groups again.

Range finder distance: 107 yards
Number of shots: 10
Group size: 3.75"
Ammo: PMC 55gr

3-5 shot groups were obviously smaller but I wanted a very good representation.

Once I get more match ammo 69-77gr I'll do the same

There has been some scattered comments about this, but I would like some additional first hand input regarding how well the mag-well functions with various mag brands. In terms of:
(1) feed reliability
(2) mag insertion

IMHO this seems to be the biggest deviation from its original military design and possibly the greatest concern on this civvies version.

some mags are too tight to even force in. If the mag is too loose it can add to feeding issues. Ive just found mags mine likes and use them...

Thanks, that confirms my assumptions, unfortunately.

Once you work the feed ramp a bit, the mag issue becomes less prevalent, but still, *most* mags will work fine, some stock, some with minor modifications. Like for me, the 10 round LAR magazines work just fine stock, but for the IMI magazines, I need to shim the back of them with a wee bit of velcro to get them to feed 100%. But now that I have found mags that work fine, I have had 0 failures in hundreds and hundreds of rounds.

Thanks for the input. So its a bit of an experiment and mini-project before its reliable.
Don't take me wrong lots of types of guns are like that, some ARs need to be tweaked, and 1911 as another example, and cz858 need its gremlin worked sometimes.
I wonder if the T97 mag-well issue is something the manufacturer can improve on in a future version......
Or offer a version that takes non-AR mags (like the military original) but in 5.56.

I think it's actually more the wild variation in mags that is the issue.

They probably made it to fit one example... That doesn't mean one that's smaller or bigger would work as well.

How would you ever solve that?

I fired about 350 rounds through my white one yesterday. Two failure to feed, with IMI mags... Or a 0.57% failure rate

Alright so I just measured a few different grips from back of grip to magazine.

Hogue overmold - 1 5/8"
Magpul MOE K - 2 5/8"
Ergo swift grip - 3"

I think I'll stick with the Ergo for now to facilitate mag changes.

Has anyone used any of the products SRC Gun Works has come up with for the T97? If so, which one(s) did you get and was it worth it?

Heyy Guys. The only thing that really bugs me about T97, is the Mag release. Whats the Best option out there? I don't think I like the one form SRC, I haven't used one though, is it OK? Seems Big & Clunky to me? I dont like how it lookz really either :p. Is there a Good {simple} DIY option? Or something already out there from a company that works? Thanks! {something to actuate the Mag release from the Left side} Cheerz .. ~
