There has been some scattered comments about this, but I would like some additional first hand input regarding how well the mag-well functions with various mag brands. In terms of:
(1) feed reliability
(2) mag insertion
IMHO this seems to be the biggest deviation from its original military design and possibly the greatest concern on this civvies version.
some mags are too tight to even force in. If the mag is too loose it can add to feeding issues. Ive just found mags mine likes and use them...
Thanks, that confirms my assumptions, unfortunately.
Once you work the feed ramp a bit, the mag issue becomes less prevalent, but still, *most* mags will work fine, some stock, some with minor modifications. Like for me, the 10 round LAR magazines work just fine stock, but for the IMI magazines, I need to shim the back of them with a wee bit of velcro to get them to feed 100%. But now that I have found mags that work fine, I have had 0 failures in hundreds and hundreds of rounds.
Id like an actual rail on the side instead of my jimmy rigged one. That'd be the only thing im interested in the LHG
Thanks, that confirms my assumptions, unfortunately.
Polymer mags are hit and miss in many guns, I can't get my Type 97 to accept any of the polymer mags but likes the metal ones.
Has anyone used any of the products SRC Gun Works has come up with for the T97? If so, which one(s) did you get and was it worth it?

Do we know if the QBZ-97 STANAG magwell is the same as our civvie Type 97 magwell design?
