Anyone have a cool paint job on their T97?? Let’s see them!
Just got back. The white on the polymer back cover was yellowing so I updated.

Can you show a picture with the bipod folded?
I'll try and remember to take a good one.

From the factory, are the non-polymer receiver parts anodized or painted?

Just got finished making a press fit adapter for a flash hider. Then because I didn't feel like having a useless flash hider around, I threaded it and made a thread adapter to use it if I wanted to. I didn't torque anything down as I'm out of crush washers. Just thought I'd share another way you can have a different flash hider without threading your barrel.
I only did it this way because my lathe couldn't hold the barrel without me having to bash the gas block off. So I found a work around.
Next up, an attempt at a bolt release/manual hold open.

I think the build is complete.
Nice rifle. I am trying to source a pla sling and optic. Where did you find the yma optic?
Sorry if this was already asked/answered, but is the solution to occasional "bullet pushed into case jamming the rifle" to actually file down/sand down the feed ramp in the gen1 rifles?
You would be better off first:
1) Testing different magazines, as the vast majority of the time, you will be able to find a magazine that runs perfectly.
2) Then possibly doing a small bit of sanding in your mag well if you are not able to get certain mags in there to test (provided you still have not found any that are 100 percent reliable).
3) Then potentially modifying the feed ramps.
Holy crap Shawn, that gunmetal grey looks freaking awesome. What was your process in painting it?
Just wanna say thanks too for all the T97 related stuff you do on Youtube, I found a bunch of your videos when I became interested in this gun. Especially your reliability/teardown video. Definitely made me feel confident in the firearm. Probably getting one of these as my first 5.56 rifle. Cheers!
Whatever happened to the Type 97 carbine, the ones with the canister muzzle brakes? They get prohibited and never to re-appear on the market?
