The T97 Thread!

There is a half shim in there if you look closely. Yes, this setup SHOULDN'T require shims (if the threading was done correctly) but it does. If I simply tighten the jam nut without the half shim I inserted, the muzzle device will be visibly misaligned with the barrel.

Sorry. It seems I did mis-understand what the problem was.

I had a local machine shop TIG down the #1 port and reproduce it smaller.
At first it failed to cycle, so I tweaked it with a dremel needle diamond bit and got it to place the spent casings about eight feet away instead of fifteen yards.

I’m personally okay with aggressive ejection.

I’d rather it keep running whatever, and just know I won’t be reloading the brass.

I had folks from TNA remove the pinned flash hider and thread the barrel for me. It was only 60$, but they didn't do a great job at it. Threads they cut are kinda loose, and I had to ghetto rig it with half shims to get new muzzle device to align with the bore properly. It was a pain in the 6, and using a big brake is out of the question. Had to settle on A2, which is still nicer than default device, but not exactly what I wanted.

a dealer here was charging $80 just for threading, no removing old flash hider and reducing barrel. might be worth shipping it to them.

Can’t wait to see how she functions. Christmas special from TNA. Fake can looks great and can easily be swapped out. A8FCAB4F-139F-4EB5-B644-FD06B0405ED1.jpgC6A0AD2C-8E67-490C-83A0-61890E3E120A.jpg

Hey all, is it normal for brass to come out dented from this rifle? I have a gen 2. I don't reload, but want to make sure its not part of an underlying issue. I hope this hasn't been discussed already, I started reading through but gave up when I saw there was almost 200 pages. Thanks for your time!

Yes, it's normal. The rifle is designed for military application, so it's overgassed and intended to be used with steel case ammo.

Just read the entire thread, lol, I originally had the Canada-ammo pre-sale, but it never happened...but, I just pulled the trigger. Ordered a gen 3 minutes ago...can’t wait to be in the club. Just wish I could get my hands on a LHG. Hopefully they start making them again...thanks to all the long time thread contributors. You rock

Another noob question
ARs like to run wet
What about the T97? Oil the slides and BCG or leave them dry?

Grease (not oil) the rails. It's more for the benefit of the linear hammer than the BCG. That hammer sliding along dry rails will leave you with a perceivable "lock time" - a noticeable gap between when you pull the trigger and when the rifle discharges.
