The Templar Thread, 5.56 by Crusader Arms / Spectre LTD

Just had a thought, do you think Warhammer 40000 would be up for some cross promotion with Crusader? The Templar does look bolter-esque, and a guy in Space Marine armor at Shotshow with an MLOK chainsword bayonet on the Templar would be cool.

It would be funny, but it would also be distinctive. Imagine a Space Marine next to the Templar Knight, both carrying Templar bolters...err...rifles :) , it would be definitely stick out at Shotshow.

Affordable Optics and Rifle Reviews on YouTube interviewed Crusader Arms at TACCOM 2022,https://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php/2309795-Crusader-Arms-at-TACCOM-interview?p=19132476#post19132476. Some new info:

7.62x39 mm confirmed in development with AK mags. Rejoice those who pined over the cancelled WK181C or want an M10X alternative that will hopefully be reliable. Crusader did not consider feeding from STANAG mags for 7.62x39 mm to be consistent and dependable enough, so that is why they are using AK mags. They are being careful to match the gassing to the ammo in developing the 7.62x39 mm Templar.

Like with the Sterling R18 development, Crusader found there was an unacceptable loss of accuracy with a pencil barrel, which is why they went mid-profile on the barrel.

The ACR style stock is made by F5 MFG.

^ you are a wealth of info, thank you!

You are welcome. It's cool seeing multiple 180 designs come into being.

It is disappointing the lower problems for the Jard J180 hindered that platform; hopefully SBI can finish their DI BCG, or Crusader, Sterling, or BCM can develop one to allow a wider variety hand guards and pencil barrels for some lighter builds. Or CMMG by some miracle can get a long boi version of the Dissent, modified to be fit an AR-180 instead of AR-15 lower.

Well life time warranty sounds promising! Im impatiently waiting to see some reviews on the Templar and R-18 before I make my mind up on one.

I am curious to hear about mag fitment once someone gets their rifle in, as someone mentioned in another thread that at taccom gen 2 pmags would not fit and it looked like mags displayed in gun were filed down. ( this was mentioned in the sterling arms r18 thread).
